About this house rental
Nestled in Block Island, this lovely house for $300 per night is a great option for your next vacation. Please read the full description: The Barn is an idyllic, peaceful escape from the summertime crowds in town. Located on the bluffs above Long Island Sound, it has a spectacular view of passing boats and sunsets from the large windows on the west side, and sweeping views of the Audubon property from the open hayloft doors on the east An outside stairway leads to the upper floor of the Barn, one large space with a king-size bed built up for views to the west and a queen-size bed at the other end. The bathroom with shower is a separate room with a window above the sink overlooking rolling fields and the sunrise. The kitchen area has granite counters and two sinks and is furnished with a small fridge, an electric two-burner cooker, coffee machine, toaster oven, etc. The ground floor of the Barn is used as a studio/sculpture gallery and as storage for vehicles in the winter… not used when guests are in residence. The separate driveway to the Barn passes the owner's large vegetable and flower garden. There is a picnic table and charcoal grill, hammock and Adirondack chairs for relaxing in the sun. The property has a private path to the rocky beach, excellent for surf-casting, beach combing and picnics. Swimming is not recommended because of the difficulty in getting in and out of the water over the stones. Suitable for a couple or a small family, the Barn at Schooner Point is romantic. A car is strongly recommended because it is at the end of a long dirt road, about 3 miles from the ferry, restaurants and swimming beaches. The barn is not winterized so strong winds from the west and east can make it drafty inside. There is a vented kerosene heater which works well to heat the space. It is possible to be comfortable in the barn in November and December if it is not too windy or bitterly cold.

The views are amazing. The sunrise and sunsets are something that you have to experience. They were breath taking. Everything about this spot says you need to stay here! So happy we were finally able to experience this piece of paradise!

Can't think of a better place to be in Block Island, especially in the off season (October). Spectacular ocean view from the king size bed. We were totally comfortable even through a couple of cool and extremely windy days and nights. Hosts were wonderful and we'd love to stay there again.
The only hassle (easily resolved) was directions: best GPS coordinate for us was 893 Southwest Road (Cooneymus Road to Dicken's Road to SW Road all the way to the Hackett property and "barn" signs at the end).

The place was the perfect secret hideaway with an amazing view of the ocean and sunset. The trail down to the private beach offered a peaceful walk, and the beach had a lot to explore. A storm came through that extended our stay, but we couldn't have picked a better spot to be. The hosts were awesome, and extremely accommodating. The best hosts that I have had the pleasure of meeting! Thank you.

The Barn at the SW point of Block Island is a fantastic location for a remote getaway with sweeping ocean views in a rural setting. It’s a rustic accommodation with no A/C but the breeze is good and the bed is very comfortable. If you are into nature, privacy, quiet and the ocean, this is the place for you. If you want an experience at a hotel in town and near bars, this is not your place. We will be back.

We had a great two night stay (2 adults and 2 children). The views and location were beautiful. The barn was comfortable and perfect for the 4 of us for a couple nights on the island.

The Barn has a lot of potential I think it could use a good deep cleaning. The location we were given was 893 schooners point. When it was actually south west road. We ended up in some neighbors driveway and he wasn't happy about it. And the driveway could use a good mowing.
The beach was as described and it was quiet and peaceful.

Do as little or as much as you want…this is the perfect place. Away from downtown, but close enough, we spent out time relaxing, whether at the beach, a restaurant, or just sitting watching the ocean in our private yard. Can wait for next time.

This is a fabulous place to get away from everything.
We happened to go at the end of April because we needed to get away from everything and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect place.
The setting is beautiful. You can hear the ocean from the barn and the sunsets are breathtaking. Most mornings we woke to hear pheasants and see them running around in the field.
April on Block Island is very quiet with few of the crowds that you would have in the summer, so touring on the island was very easy. This was our first visit to the island and we were entranced.
Leslie and Sean are great hosts. We communicated with them regularly for different things and they were always very responsive.
One note I will make to travelers is that, depending on your cell carrier, cell service can be spotty. So, you should make sure to download offline Google maps for Block Island. This will ensure that you can get everywhere you want. No worries once you get to the barn because Leslie has a 5G home hotspot which makes it easy to connect with your 5G mobile hotspot or cell phone to the outside world - if that is what you want.
It is also very easy to ignore the outside world and just enjoy the quiet solitude of the setting.

What a beautiful location. Quiet with amazing views. Barn is rustic. We loved drinking our morning coffee while sitting on the Adirondack chairs admiring the view. The deer were everywhere. If you want a relaxing and private spot, this is the place!

This is our second sty at the Barn and once again it did not dissapoint.There are many activities to do on the Isalnd but we were often content to just sit in the Adirondak chairs and enjoy the view or to follow the path from the property and take long walks on the beach. The hosts are responsive and there if you need thembut they are totally unobtrusive. We will absolutly retun!

A rustic barn brimming with character, art, books and a story to share. The perfect escape to commune with nature in a bucolic setting with magical views of the ocean and nature's noisey silence!
If you love cooking on a open grill, awakening to the mist over the ocean and being thinly wrapped in a cozy cocoon that removes all distractions except the ebb and flow of a wonderfully timeless day, then this is the place for you. White-tailed deer bounding across the meadow symbiotically joined by red-winged black birds, rosa rugosa in bloom and tumblng down to the sea, stones at the water's edge of every shape and color, fog horns in the distance at night, the mesmerizing clang of the buoy chime and sunsets that envelope you ...there is no better spot!

Magical place
The barn is a wonderful place to recharge. On the quiet side of the island . Crashing surf, the bluffs, sweeping meadows. Great spot to get back to basics. We loved every minute, including the foggy gray days. Leslie is a great host. There if you need something bit also very respectful of your privacy. We'll be back!
