I really enjoyed the location it was very central right on the beginning of rainbow road. The bed was comfortable and supplies in the kitchen / appliances were really nice to have in Reykjavik - so we could make dinner at the stay.
There were a few things that were slightly broken - functional but needed a fix. When we got there the kitchen faucet was loose and leaning to the side (still worked). The shower leaks from the back of the drain (not shower door). Also a window would not completely close. The bed was comfortable but I think needs new linens, the sheets and pillows seemed worn out.
There are also two gates on each side of the building so needed to take a bit of time to understand how to get into the stay. We ended up going in the wrong gate at first.

The location is fantastic. The apartment is quite large and has big windows with a long window seat to sit and watch people taking photos on the rainbow road. For me, this was enough to make me happy I chose this place even though the maintenance wasn’t great.
There were a lot of things that were broken. The overhead light in the bedroom didn’t work. The faucets were wobbly because they were poorly installed. The shower wasn’t “built in”, it was on stilts and very small. It also didn’t drain well. The hardware on the window that can be opened is only barely held to the window frame by a single screw. The other screws had pulled out of the rotten wood. There were random wires and baseboards and fridge doors throughout the appartement that were either poorly installed or had fallen off. Basically it looked like things were installed by people who really did not care.
The water smelled like boiled eggs, which is a thing in Iceland, but a filter of some sort would have been nice.
And finally, this is not at all the fault of the hotel, but there is a building being torn down and rebuilt across the street so lots of jack hammering noise. We stayed in September 2026, so at some point that should be complete.

The location is very good. The room is very spacious.
The kitchen smells of sewer. There seems to be mold / water damage near the sink. There were random pretzel left on the side table. It was not clear which lock box holds the key. it was not labelled clearly.
