Great area, the self check-in was self explanatory and easy. Everything was very clean and comfortable. I honestly have nothig bad to say. Loads of hiking and mountain/rockclimbing everywhere you look. Best way to get to Hallstatt is by boat.

The room was spacious with a view of the mountains. It was a traditional Austrian guesthouse. Our room appeared to have been recently renovated to include an ensuite and kitchen. The kitchen was well equipped and there was an espresso machine downstairs offering coffee for 1 euro/cup. The bus and ferry were within walking distance and a supermarket next door.
Our bathroom had no bodywash/soap. Obertraun and Hallstatt shopping, groceries and sightseeing was in general expensive.

Great location, really clean.
The walls must have been made of paper, you can basically hear anything two rooms next to you. Combine that with a train track nearby, and unless you have ear plugs, you will not sleep well.
