Love the location and property - just perfect for us and it was an added bonus for us to be able to bring our 3 pups! Excellent home and very well appointed! Had a great time, but the winds we had while there made hanging out on the nice deck challenging. Would definitely consider staying there again!

We truly enjoyed our stay here. The views from the deck overlooking the valley were amazing. Everything you needed was there and they even have the Comfy sheets (if you know you know). They are so soft and comfortable. The inside could use a little updating, but we would definitely come back again. A short 5 minute drive to town. Lots of hiking nearby. A+++

Scott's place is AMAZING. I loved sitting having coffee by waking up to the Butte! After the location, the place itself is nicely stocked with dishes and towels and the basic essentials for cooking. I cooked an entire meal with desert for 5 and had enough dishes for all. The Grill was great kept the heat out of the house. Sitting outside at night we could watch the stars and enjoy the view of Prescott below. Scott is great at communicating and was a great host. I would definitely at stay Scott's again.

This is a very cozy little A frame cabin. We were treated to an early snow New Year's Weekend 2023. The heater kept the cabin warm and snug. Dish TV is run on the TV but we brought an XBOX and used online streaming when the snow caused the satellite to fail. The kitchen is good for 1 cook and furnished with cooking utinsels, silverware, and dishes. It is a great getaway just outide town enough to relax.

The VRBO cottage is rustic and comfortable. There is a sloped ceiling at the top of the stairs leading to the bedrooms that can bonk you if you aren't careful and especially if you are 6' or taller (I'm 5'9" so it wasn't a big problem). Wifi is a bit spotty and slow but usually works (we were on it a lot when in the house). The owners live next door and that is reassuring and valuable should situations arise (for us they didn't). They are quiet and respect your privacy.
The turn into the property comes up suddenly and can be tricky at night but that is really not an issue once you know about it.

We really enjoyed our time in this little house with superb views of Thumb Butte and the surrounding hills, while being able to drive into town in just a few minutes. The Thumb Butte trailhead is just a couple minutes walk up the road. With a balcony on one side and patio on another, we could always sit in the shade or sun as desired.

Location, Peace and Quiet, and then there’s the VIEW!
We had a wonderful time here. Scott was very accommodating. The view of the valley from the porch was awesome. We spent almost all of our time sitting on the porch enjoying the afternoon thundershowers and listening to all of the birds. This location is very close to several hiking trails and just far enough away from the city to feel like you’re on vacation, but not so far that you couldn’t check out Downtown Prescott. We will stay here again. It doesn’t have all the glitz and glamor, but who needs to complicate things…

Scott the owner lives down the driveway. Very friendly and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our time visiting with him to get to know the property and interesting facts about Prescott and the area. The property is peaceful, and allows you to be fully immersed in nature (saw javalina down the road, heard the howl of coyotes at night). The 2 min walk to the Thumb Butte Trail was a bonus. That Thumb Butte hike is not to be missed. Paved trail with a challenging ascent with lots of switch backs, view points and bench seats to take in the magical views. The house is charming. We loved the porch at night taking in the breeze and the views. We can't wait to go back. Thanks Scott for your hospitalilty.

A "5" rating is given only when the the quality of the property and/or the service provided was exceptional.
We rented this cabin for 2 months in the winter of 2022. Because of COVID we cancelled our 2021 stay and Scott kindly let us reschedule for the same rate. The condition of the property wasn't at all what we expected since it generally wasn't clean. Some of the furniture was not clean or in good enough condition to use. There were cobwebs and dead flies on most of the windowsills, the windows were dirty, the bathroom was dirty, and the oven was so dirty that it smoked the first time we used it. The couch was dirty enough that we covered it with a sheet during our stay. There was a chair in the living room that was unusable because the seat had fallen. The owner had installed a window A/C unit in one half of the kitchen window and put wallboard above it covering the window space while allowing cold air to blow through the gaps and across the kitchen table. The biggest problem is that we had an ant infestation in the kitchen and bathroom, which we never eliminated. We talked to the owner and he said that he would work on the problem.
After a meeting with the owner, the air conditioner was removed and the window pane was re-installed in the kitchen. We agreed to clean the house and windows to our preference. We managed the ant traps in the kitchen and bathroom.
I would not recommend this for a long term stay as the kitchen is not well stocked and the appliances are old and tired. The 2 story cabin has steep stairs to the bedrooms on the 2nd floor. The landing at the top of the stairs has a sloped ceiling causing a 5’ 8” person to crouch to enter the room. There is no washer or dryer, though the owners will allow you to use their washer and dryer if you don’t mind walking through their house.
Overall, it was not a comfortable stay and we would not recommend this property. However, the location of the property does have advantages such as the view from the deck overlooking the town of Prescott and proximity to hiking in the nearby Prescott Nat'l Forest.

We had a fantastic stay at this cute and cozy cabin. The location was excellent and easy walking distance to Thumb Butte trail which saves you the $5 daily parking fee. It's also a short drive to downtown as described so a perfect place to stay for anyone that wants to be just outside of town.
Scott the owner was very responsive and attentive to anything we needed. The master bedroom sheets and bed were so comfortable! We'd definitely recommend staying here and look forward to staying again in the future.

We had a fantastic stay at this cute and cozy cabin. The location was excellent and easy walking distance to Thumb Butte trail which saves you the $5 daily parking fee. It's also a short drive to downtown as described so a perfect place to stay for anyone that wants to be just outside of town.
