The location was excellent!
Very close to the Palazzo Reale, Cathedral, shops, restaurants and City Tour buses.
If, you want to get out of the extremely noisy and polluted city the hotel is five minutes from a train station that can take you to Messina or Trapani for a day out!
Breakfast on the terrace was delightful!
The lack of detailed Information on the best way to get from the airport to the accommodation.
Communication re restaurants and places of interest was great but what would have been most helpful was to be advised that there is a direct train to a station five minutes round the corner from the hotel.
We advised the hotel that we were thinking of getting the airport shuttle bus, which was a nightmare to find on arrival, but nothing was said about the train as a more convenient and swifter alternative.
On a Sunday evening, the airport shuttle bus got stuck in crawling traffic for half an hour and despite giving the driver our drop off details we ended up at the end of the line at 10 o'clock at night.
Out of desperation and to avoid walking through the unknown streets of Palermo, in the dark, we shelled out 20 euros for a taxi to finally get us to our destination.

It can be quiet busy outside and you can hear it. We were fine with it but if you are sesitive to noise ask if they have quiet rooms.

Dante is a wonderful person and great host! Room was well appointed and had a nice view. Windows block traffic noise well. Breakfast was great and terrace lovely.
There was no hot water so we couldn’t shower. We understood the boiler had broken and was out of the hotel’s control. We asked the manager for some compensation which seemed reasonable. We were told we had already received a discount on booking.com for Black Friday sale - totally not relevant to the issue of hot water! - and dismissed. Poor management.
We were also told there was no parking near the hotel that night and we’d have to walk 15 minutes to park the car at the Orlando garage. We walked in the dark in rain on a very busy and dangerous street with our bags and my two elderly parents. When we arrived Dante (great guy!) told us that often for a one night stay it is fine to leave the car just outside even without a reserved space and was surprised we hadn’t been told that. We felt bad to have walked in such unpleasant conditions due to poor communication from the hotel management.
The hotel also needs to advise people NOT to follow the quickest way on Google maps from the parking garage but rather to walk 2 extra minutes to stay in the pedestrian zone. Basic safety information for guests. I shared this feedback with the manager who didn’t seem particularly interested.
