We loved our stay at the boathouse for the Thanksgiving Holiday! The view was spectacular, the house was in the perfect location walkable to everything from walking trails to restaurants. The house itself had everything you could need. The beds were
comfortable. There were plenty of blankets and pillows and towels. The shower water pressure was very good - easily rinsed the shampoo out.
There were plenty of games and puzzles. The house was very clean.
We will be returning!

Second time staying at this cozy home with the most amazing views. The house is well equipped with kitchen essentials and comfortable beds which is a good thing because you won’t want to leave when you see the views. But if you do venture out, you’re close to the amazing paths at Patrick’s point and not too far from Fern Canyon and lots of Redwood options. The checkout process is easy and makes the stay that much more relaxing. Looking forward to my next stay in this lovely home.

We've been coming to Humboldt County for many years, but this was our first stay in Trinidad. This is THE place. Just a gorgeous location (best view) and the home is very clean, well stocked and inviting. Trinidad is very close to Redwood National Park and also Arcata/Eureka (with airport). We will certainly be back to visit "the Boat House". Thank you for making our stay so awesome!

This was the nicest verbo we have stayed in. The easy access to beaches and the Redwoods was awesome. We are already planning our next trip back to stay in the Boathouse. If you are thinking about booking the boathouse do it now.

This is our second trip here and between the location, sound of the ocean, birds and smell of fresh air we decided to book again for next year instead of every other year. Had the wonderful opportunity to meet the owner and he was so happy and kind. We recommended a table for the patio and when we arrived, there was a table... Thank you! Can't wait to stay again in 2024.

A two bedroom detached property on one floor, with ample storage, a fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer. A very large lounge/dining area with two large sofas (one is a 3rd bed) a dining table and chairs and a reclining chair. The panoramic full height windows overlook the sea. The only improvements I would suggest are: a blind over the right hand window. If you want to sit on the main sofa looking out over the sea, the sun comes down through the right window and is blinding. This also means (should you want to) you can’t see the TV until full dark. One full size bed would be good. We didn’t struggle and it’s not a complaint, but it would be nice. We will book again ASAP. We came from England to get married in the forest while staying at the Boathouse and it was the perfect place for our wedding night and first day of our honeymoon. Thank you.

The views were spectacular, the beds so comfortable, the location perfectly quiet except for the sounds of sea and birds. We walked everywhere, including to several restaurants and the beach. Amazingly relaxing!

The Boat house is truly special. They have maintained the original charm and character of this unique house and location. May be the most beautiful place in the California Pacific Coast. Hidden gem. Quiet town, hiking on Trinidad head, wonderful shops and restaurants, and on the doorstep of so many activities in each direction.

Best view in Trinidad! The Boathouse is our favorite place to stay. Close to beach and walking distance to grocery store. We enjoyed the new linens - lots of high quality towels and upgraded kitchen utensils since our last visit. Washer and dryer a plus. Better than 5 stars for cleanliness - immaculate!

This property is so beautiful. It’s a perfect jumping off point to the state and national parks, but you won’t want to leave. Immaculately clean. I can’t recommend highly enough.

We have stayed at the Boathouse a few times and it is still our favorite vacation spot. So much to do and so much not to do (we call it deck time!). The place itself is so comfortable and clean with more than spectacular views. Casey, the owner, checked in on us and has always been friendly and accommodating. Quality time for our family to be remembered for years. We will be back! Thank you!!

This property has absolutely amazing views. The home was so clean and cozy. We didn’t want to leave!! We enjoyed ourselves so much! I honestly don’t remember the last time we have been so relaxed. The town is so friendly and has some excellent restaurants! (The Eatery, Lighthouse Grill and the Larrupin). Moonstone wine tasting and Trinidad Healing Arts were fun stops as well. We hope to be back!!

Five wonderful days at the boathouse! It was a perfect vacation home for our family of three adults. I only wish we could take the 180° bay and ocean views home with us. Every morning, we enjoyed watching the harbor seals and fishing boats. The beaches and hiking trails were within a block or two. We also loved the quaint, quiet little town of Trinidad. The grocery store, gas station, restaurants and shops were close by. We will definitely be recommending the Boathouse VRBO to our family, friends, and anyone we know who will be visiting the northern California coast. Just wish that we didn’t lives so far away, otherwise, we would be spending much more time at the Boathouse! Highly recommend!

We loved this house! Impeccably clean, comfortable furniture, and well stocked n every way! Spend days hiking in the redwoods and beach combing, and look forward to coming “home” to amazing ocean views and sunsets. There was literally nothing we needed that wasn’t there- extra towels, blankets pillows, pots, pans, dishes,, books, puzzles, games, etc …we will definitely rent here again!

This is our third time at the Boathouse. I guess that alone says all. For us, it's the perfect hang. The views from the living room are outstanding and the house is super cozy. Communication with the owner is painless, and the house is always absolutely spotless on arrival. We love the quiet residential neighborhood, listening to the waves, hiking Trinidad Head and walking on Trinidad State Beach. Not to mention exploring the lagoons and the giant coastal redwoods. We'll definitely be back again.

Ideally located above Trinidad head with unobstructed views of the ocean and Trinidad head. Well equipped, basic, small kitchen and ample living room with large picture windows and 180-degree views of the coast. Comfy, firm beds and plenty of linens and towels. Nice fireplace which we understand is in working order, but which we did not use. Home seemingly has not been updated, except perhaps the large thermo-pane windows, but was comfortable, warm, and well laid out.
Short walking distance to Trinidad State Beach, Trinidad Head, the classic Seascape restaurant and a short drive or longer walk to gift shops, four other restaurants/cafes, and the awesome Murphy's grocery.
Had to leave one day early due to major storm and power outages. Host was very accommodating and easy to reach. Looking forward to staying again.

We always enjoy our stay here, the beds are super comfy and the views are constantly breath taking! We are quite fond of our friends at the Beachcomber Cafe and their awesome food, baked goodies and drinks! Then Prairie Creek Redwoods are spectacular as always!

This property was immaculate with all utensils and appliances you will need for your stay. Of course the greatest asset is its location. It provides a huge picture window view of Trinidad Bay and Trinidad Head. Walking distance to several restaurants and shops. We especially enjoyed the proximity to trails in Redwood National Park. A fabulous property.

Very peaceful and quiet neighborhood with beautiful views. The home has everything you could need to make meals, get some R&R and great place to visit the local parks. Down the street is the beach and a quick hike to the lighthouse if you're up to it.

We needed a time of respite and that is what this home is all about. The location is superior. Although there are houses around it, it's location and angle leave you feeling quite secluded while you indulge the beautiful water views. Host has gone to great lengths to make this a peaceful, comfortable space. We were just two but four would have amble room and six could manage nicely, we think. Supplies are good for cooking at home.
The location has easy access to so much. We can recommend Larrupin for fine dining, a short drive away, and the Lighthouse Grill for casual dining in town..
We're ready to come back!
