About this bed and breakfast
Nestled in Southern Gulf Islands, this lovely bed and breakfast for $163 per night is a great option for your next break. When my husband Bob and I purchased this property 13 years ago, we knew it was just too beautiful not to share. The ocean and mountain vistas are like no other. The most common comment we receive is 'Wow, what a million dollar view'. We are situated on seven acres set in a private and peaceful setting. Our home is truly a great place to relax and enjoy the amazing views from the hot tub or gazebo on your private deck accessible from your private room entrance. Enjoy the spacious bathroom equipped with towels, misc. bath needs and comfy bath robes. Enjoy breakfast at your leisure in your room where fresh fruit, coffee, tea, ham or Canadian back bacon, eggs, cheese, homemade bread and preserves are provided for you to prepare at your leisure. This is much more than a bed and breakfast. Many of our guest choose to treat it as a destination, taking time to relax and wind down. The gazebo and hot tub are yours to use exclusively during your visit. There is a BBQ provided which has been very popular. Your dishes are whisked away from behind the magic door (you have to check in for the rest of that story) and returned dishwasher cleaned. If you choose to venture out, there are several hiking trails, wineries, fabulous restaurants, lakes and ocean beaches close by including the spectacular Malahat Sky Walk just 1.5 kilometers south. Mill Bay (about 5 minutes north) has shops, liquor store, Thrifty foods, Pharmasave and many other amenities. Special food requests considered. We have been I operation since 2011 and it has been one of the most rewarding experiences ever and are humbled by our 5 star rating! We sincerely look forward to meeting you. We stayed at Char place for our post wedding mini moon! It was so relaxing oasis! The room was clean the hot tub was so nice to sit in! And the fire place was amazing! We loved the home made bread! Thank you Char for letting us stay

We wanted to go somewhere to just relax and wind down. This was the perfect spot for it! From the private hot tub to the sheltered outdoor area with loungers and a heater for those chilly nights, we were able to do just this whilst overlooking the most amazing view just footages from our suite. We will definitely be returning to stay here in the future.

This was everything we could have asked for for our 3-night stay. Watching the sunrise from either comfy king-size bed or private cabana or hottub - cannot ask for a better start to a day.
Although located on the busy Malahat, it is easy to get to and from, centrally located for daytrips to wineries, golf and nature.
The generous host Char is a rockstar, and the food provided was (almost) too plentiful, but we managed to consume it all.
I think, we will be back.

We had an absolutely amazing weekend, mainly spent just lazing in the hot tub enjoying the view! Char made us feel so at home, and her baking is delightful.

Great little space, with a very rare view for Vancouver island. The hot tub and covered lounge area is the perfect spot to take in the view and watch the birds swoop by. The breakfast was perfect to enjoy out on the chairs as well, lovely hosts!

Char and Bob were amazing hosts. All the details were fantastic. The hot tub was great, the lounge chairs and fire table were very nice and comfortable. The unit had everything we needed and more. Absolutely beautiful location, private, peaceful, relaxing. A little hard to locate, and isolated once you get there, but worth the effort! Char was an excellent host, very responsive and put a lot of effort into making our stay comfortable.

Char & Bob have created an awesome place for comfort and relaxation and THE most amazing view. We are so glad they decided to share their blessing with passers-by who could stay in a completely separate, but attached portion, of their home overlooking Saanich Inlet and Brentwood Bay. Char has a great presence of care and hospitality, and creates fresh baked goods for each of their guests. Bob is in the background as far as guests are concerned, but they are obviously a cohesive team to provide everything needed for a restful stay for travelers from near and far.

Char and Bob’s place was one of the most incredible rentals I have ever stayed at. Char was so helpful and provided the coziest setting my boyfriend and I could have asked for!! Remote controlled blinds, a towel warmer, a fire place both indoor and outdoor, a hot tub with an AMAZING view, and so much more. Oh and the cheese bread was the cherry on top! Highly recommend if you come to this side of Vancouver Island!

I give this place 5 stars for all the things you'd expect- cleanliness, responsiveness, location, etc. What really stood out for me was the attention to detail. Every time that I looked for a place to put an item, there was a strategically placed hook. Every time I thought that it'd be nice to have some comfort item, it was there. Char and Bob thought of everything!! In addition, the view and the property itself is stunning. We had all sorts of plans to explore but we were tempted just to sit under the gazebo and take it all in. Thanks so much for having us!!

I knew in my gut the moment I saw this place that it was going to be special, and that is so an understatement. Char and Bob have created such a magical cross sector of luxury, comfort and such a cool space to take in all that glorious nature! We felt so spoiled and truly felt like we got to relax! We loved the indoor space with a comfy bed, heated floors, a magic door for all your dishes, an automatic curtain to wake up and press a button to watch sunrises from bed- so many thoughtful details.l-including fresh bread that was baked with love and so dang good!! Char went over and beyond, and we felt like we could have been instant friends! We loved watching bald eagles, turkey vultures and emerald purple sparrows swoop around while drinking coffee in the hot tub, the sunrises were spectacular and some of the best photos I have ever taken easily, such a breathtaking view from SO many angles there! We did time lapses and every picture we took of ourselves in front of that view in dusk sunset hours looked green screened-you have to see it to believe it!! We loved the extended outdoor space, the loungers and the heat lamp, our pup especially loved, and passed out under it everytime we were outside! Clear instructions to make it easy and private and we will undoubtedly be back here!! Such an amazing view, we will be dreaming of it and talking about it for a long time to come!! Such a gem! Thank you so much for sharing your space!!

There is simply no words to describe how phenomenal this place is.
Char greeted my husband and with enormous hugs (and our pup with head scratches!) She gave us a very thorough walk through of the suite and amenities and even showed us the “magic door”!
The breakfast offering was delicious and plentiful and the homemade cheese bread she brought fresh out of the oven was a very welcome surprise!
We cannot wait to come back to Bob and Char’s oasis on the mountain ❤️

My husband and I needed a place to stay for a few days while we had our furnace and heat pump replaced. Was I ever glad we found this place! It was super clean, and had all the bases covered, I could not think of anything else we needed while staying there.
Char was an awesome host, she made us feel like family without all the drama! Lol (she even greeted us with a hug!). Char gave us a walk through of the property, showing us all the amenities and then leaving us alone for the duration of our stay. She did make herself available via text or call if we needed anything.
The views were amazing with incredible sunrises and sunsets, you cannot help but be in awe of your surroundings. The outdoor setup is phenomenal with gorgeous sitting and lounge areas, bbq and small private dining area, not to mention a wonderful and very private hot tub. They even thought of outdoor plug-ins and USB chargers if you need need to connect with the outside world all while having a million dollar view or soaking in the hot tub.
Our room was facing the ocean, very clean and large with amazing views! The bed was super comfy, the bathroom quite roomy with the option of heated floors in both. We were provided with DELICIOUS homemade bread, coffee, tea, fresh cream, eggs, breakfast meat, cheeses, etc. We were truly pampered. Even our 130lb Newfoundlander (Ozzy) was spoiled!
We truly enjoyed our stay and absolutely recommend this vacation getaway, it is a real gem! Thanks Char for making our stay awesome!

This property has a great panoramic view out of the big glass doors. Then you step out onto the walk and whoa!!. The hostess was super welcoming. Everything was well stocked. The kingsize bed was comfortable and give us a good night's sleep. You cannot go wrong by staying here. We recommend it highly.

What a wonderful experience we had! Char is truly the most gracious host, providing both great instructions/responsiveness and the most delicious beer cheese bread! The view is amazing and the hot tub in rejuvenating. We enjoyed the privacy provided to relax in this tranquil cliff side setting, witnessing beautiful sunrises and frequent visits from our bald eagle friends. Take advantage of short drives to beautiful Victoria, as well as limitless opportunities for exploration of the surrounding Vancouver Island wilderness. HIGHLY recommend this stay, and hope to be back one day.

As you drive up to the property the first thing you notice is the spectacular view. It just gets better from there. No small detail is overlooked, from the fresh baked bread and delectable breakfast items to the plush robes for after a relaxing soak in the private hot tub overlooking the straight. If you come across anything you may need the gracious hosts are quick to address it.

Our gracious and amazing hosts Char and Bob thought of every detail to make our stay fabulous! The view, hot tub and robes, cabana with heaters, outside blankets, yummy homemade bread, all you need to make simple meals, tea and coffee, comfy bed, two pairs of binoculars, crocs…the list goes on! It was a great location close to the Malahat Skywalk and not far from Victoria! We just loved this place after travelling from Ontario. It was a great place to unwind and start our Island adventure.
