Here in Tahoe Donner, you'll be six miles northwest of downtown Truckee and less than two miles down the road from the wonderful amenities of the Trout Creek Recreation Center. Your provided guest passes provide discounts to Tahoe Donner activities and facilities that include the Trout Creek Recreation Center, the Northwoods Pool (three miles west), downhill skiing, the cross-country center, the golf course, the equestrian center, the tennis center, and the Beach Club Marina on Donner Lake (six miles south). With several renowned ski resorts, including Northstar and Squaw Valley, in the area, as well as great hiking, mountain biking, and access to Lake Tahoe in Kings Beach, North Lake Tahoe is a recreational wonderland. Things to Know RCN# 46 Following the Tahoe Donner HOA agreements, gatherings of people not renting the home are not allowed. Authorities will be notified if there is a party or large gathering in the home. No excessive noise and/or trash All exterior lights must be turned off between the hours of 10 pm and 7 am, seven days a week Parking notes: There is free parking available for 3 vehicles. Dock details: Docks are shared and found at the Tahoe Donner Marina. The Tahoe Donner Guest Passes are required for entrance and a fee applies. Public docs are located along the North shore of Donner Lake and are first come first serve and free of charge. Please note: this home resides in a noise-sensitive area and the owners participate in our Good Neighbor protection program. Our smart home technology will alert our team if excessive decibel or occupancy levels are detected, allowing us to reach out directly with a reminder of maximum occupancy and quiet hours. This technology is privacy compliant, and only monitors the presence of decibels and devices-not any personal conversation or information. Thank you for supporting our efforts to be good neighbors! Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. A little far off the beaten path, but it was a very nice cabin, although a bit small. Didn't even use the hot tub

Great location. BIG house with multiple rooms and bathrooms. Great kitchen. Great decks. This place is a dream and we will do it again. Love it. Cannot say enough nice stuff.

The cabin is nice and was accommodating for us all. The kids enjoyed wandering in the back woods and collecting cones, playing on the tree. The hot tub was enjoyed and worked great.

We checked in and noticed the home appeared uncleaned. There were alcohol cans all over the exterior of the property, as well as a bunch of other garbage. The hot tub had a layer of filthy film on the top and was unusable. Took two days to get up and running. Found a used condom wrapper in the master bedroom. Felt totally skeevy. The home itself was just mediocre. Good, not great. If we didnt have these other issues, would give it 3.5 stars. However, the cleaning and Vacasa customer service was awful.

The house was lovely, it’s in a great location, and it ultimately met our needs — but I reluctantly admit that we did encounter several disappointments.
They called me on the day of arrival to let me know that the fridge was broken and that a mini-fridge would be delivered the following morning. Upon arrival, we also discovered that the hot water was not working and would need to be fixed the following morning. One set of bed sheets had a couple of long hairs on them. And a final, very minor nitpick: I was pleased they had an iron, but sadly I couldn’t find an ironing board to use it with.
To their credit, the maintenance folks were extremely proactive, responsive, and helpful. I do understand that maintenance and cleaning issues can happen — it was just disappointing to experience several of these issues in one trip.

This cabin was perfect for me and my friends to stay at while we went spring snowboarding. Super fast Wi-Fi was a plus for downloading Xbox games and two showers helped. Hot tub was perfect after riding all day and kitchen had everything we needed. Even a bbq in the garage! So this place really was perfect and it felt like a second home.

I’m not sure why I was charged an outrageous cleaning fee, as it doesn’t seem it’s being used. There was pink mold all over the shower curtain downstairs, which forced us to use the tiny shower upstairs. It was unfortunate and annoying, but at least there was only two of us so it worked ok. However, if we had used the max capacity of the cabin, this would have caused a considerable problem. The most disturbing part was that there was a huge white-ish, sticky stain on the inside of the living room coffee table/dining table when you folded it out to the larger size. I’m not sure what the mess was, but I sincerely hope it wasn’t what it looked like, if you catch my drift. Lastly, I had contacted an employee about a refund for the hot tub fee as it was mentioned that the hot tub was not available for use. I was told it would be looked into, but I never heard back. I personally don’t think I should pay an additional fee for a specific amenity if that amenity is unavailable. I don’t think this canon is worth the money you pay to use it.

Always a great stay!
Snowpeak Chalet was once again an incredible place to vacation and close to everything we wanted to do! The chalet is comfortable with plenty of space to spread out. The place has all the amenities from Wifi, televisions to a fully stocked kitchen for cooking. We enjoyed our meals and relaxation on the front and back decks. After a fun day around Tahoe Donner, we would unwind in the hot tub surrounded by the scenery of pine trees and fresh air. Only five minutes from the cabin, we spent an afternoon at Northwoods clubhouse. The kids had a blast there going down the water slide and swimming in the pool. The kids also enjoyed the playground there and as a family, we played tennis there too! We enjoyed several days of swimming at Donner Lake and one day, we took a 25-minute drive to Kings Beach for swimming and playground fun. Our kids also loved daily visits with the horses at the Equestrian Center, only a few minutes drive from the chalet. We look forward to our next stay at the Snowpeak Chalet!

We enjoyed our stay and found that there were fans in each bedroom to help with the hot nights. Garage was open for our SUV which was a bonus. Also appreciated the wagon and beach chairs for the evening concert in Truckee. Master bathroom sink was clogged so that needs attention.

The house was great, we were just a little disappointed that there was no hot tub, and the company did say that if I had called sooner, they may have been able to move us. I just was just disappointed that the description of the house said there was a private hot tub and then in the email they sent me halfway through it was where it said there was not. Otherwise, the house was just what we needed.

This house is so cozy and cute. Love the location in Tahoe Donner. House is well equipped with all the supplies you need (especially in the kitchen). Big decks and forest backyard! Love the wood cabin feel.

We Had a Great Time
The cabin was exactly as described. Very clean, very comfortable, had everything we needed (other than a coffee pot but Starbucks is only about 10-15 minutes away). The kids had a great time playing out back in the snow, overall we had a great time.

I hesitate to write this as I do not enjoy giving a negative review. Positive is it’s an adorable house located in a great area. It is really just a bit dated, as there was a hole in the wall, the air vent appeared to be crushed in and broken on edges, the spa did not work. The cleaning service before us did not appear to do a great job, we found a pretzel in the carpet, dust and dirty dishes. Also, the sheets seemed to have been placed back in the closet wet. The mattresses in the whole house sink in and you might fly off the pull out bed in the living room if you move the wrong way. The owners are so lucky to have such an amazing property, I think if they just invest some money into the necessities it can be a stellar rental.

Terrible Property Management
When we arrived, we saw hair in showers, food on the kitchen counter, filthy kitchen utensils, dirty towels in bathroom, unclean toilets, and trash on bathroom floor. It took over an hour on the phone with Vacasa and VRBO to get someone who could deal with it. There were no other rentals, so our options were hotel or wait for a recleaning. The manager, Karyn Smith, was quite short on the phone, and at one point implied that if I was THAT concerned about cleaning, maybe I should not have come. We were also charged a hot tub fee, but the hot tub could not be used due to local Covid regulations. The unit was fine other than the lack of cleaning; sparsely decorated but had everything we needed and a great location. I think the problem is not the owners or VRBO, but with Vacasa.

There was no second key by the garage. That created quite bit of inconvenience since we relied on that information to plan activities. The ice in the back patio needs to be removed, patio might collapse. The sheets had multiple hair on them, I’m not sure if they were washed.

Great for large groups!
I had a group of 8 this weekend and the space fit everyone very nicely! Overall the house is very clean. The hot tub is a great addition, though it's a bit on the smaller end and fitting 8 people was difficult. The upstairs shower also did not get hot for some reason, so we all had to share the downstairs shower/tub. The kitchen had everything we needed, and there was a lack table that turned into a dining room table that we could all use. Overall a very nice place to host!

Very nice and comfortable. Everything you need for a small family.
The jacuzzi was great, kitchen well equipped and beds were super comfy and the patio in front was perfect to enjoy the evenings outside. The only thing that could improve would be to add a bigger cozy couch or small sectional. Also, the dogs loved it as well.
