About this house rental
Nestled in Truckee, this lovely house for $470 per night is a great option for your next trip. Our two-story home in Tahoe Donner is perfect for 1-3 families vacationing together. Ideal for a maximum of 6 adults with up to 4 children, or less adults and more children for a maximum of 10 people. This is not a party house. In Winter it has easy access to Squaw Valley, Alpine, North Star, Tahoe Donner, Etc. Plus, best Cross Country Skiing facility in the west. In summer, great hiking and mountain biking. There is lots of garage storage for many skis, boots, etc. The home is very quiet and peaceful. It is a family house. The main floor has two steps to enter the house and no other steps on the first floor interior and has a master bedroom and bath plus a 1/2 bath. The upstairs has 2 bedrooms, a 1 full bath with 2 sinks, plus a large separated kids room/Rec room where the kids can play games or relax. The rec room has 4 bunks, a seating area and a TV with cable and a Wii video game console. There is also a loft with an excellent relaxation space. Downstairs, the main living room has vaulted ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, a large comfortable couch, and a stone gas fireplace. The kitchen has a gas stove / oven, and is well-equipped with everything from pots & pans to most things needed for any kind of cooking. There are a large number of place settings as well as plenty of glasses, mugs, dishes etc. There is a large deck surrounded by lovely trees, with a fairway a short distance away. The home has its own horse shoe pit. There is a Weber Gas bbq and patio furniture, a patio table, and umbrella. In winter, the backyard is a HUGE snow park as it opens to the golf course where kids make snowmen, sled, and have snowball fights. The house has two TVs with cable, and has an internet modem downstairs. There is cellular coverage throughout the house. The closets are stocked with games and puzzles. There is a washer and dryer upstairs. Bedrooms • Master Bedroom (downstairs): King bed, adjoining bath with shower and two sinks • Guest 1 (upstairs): Queen bed, vaulted ceilings • Guest 2 (upstairs): 2 Twin beds, desk, vaulted ceilings • Rec Room (upstairs): 4 Bunk beds (2 sets of bunks) Guests have access to the Tahoe Donner Recreation Center via our guest cards to rec pool, adult lap pool, fitness center, hot tub, sauna. Tahoe Donner changes per person access pricing from year to year so please go to Tahoe Donner website for more info on current pricing. Tahoe Donner also has a tennis center (now with Pickleball as well), marina, equestrian center, family movie nights, bocce ball court, archery, a championship 18 hole golf course and driving range. There is a great (and free) putting green and an extremely nice free chipping area stocked with balls about 1 mile away. This home is less than 5 minutes from Tahoe Donner ski hill and cross country center. Tahoe Donner is within 20 minutes to major ski resorts: Squaw, Northstar, Alpine Meadows, Sugar Bowl. In summer, this is a fantastic hiking and mountain biking location. Trails start about 1 mile from my home. Amazing (and free) trails into the wilderness with trail maps, markers for varying levels of effort.

this property is as the slogan says "Beautiful Family Home, great ski location, perfect for families, quiet location." On top of that, we are so appreciative of how proactively informative and responsive the owners are, especially this snow season has been tumultuous. They really had us, the renter's best interest at heart. Now onto the home, very spacious and bright with everything you would need in a home. We really enjoyed spending time with the kids in the very cozy kids room. We hope to visit again next season.

We came up for a ski weekend and enjoyed the house. The kitchen is very nice and we cooked a lot of great meals for our 10-person group. Also easy to hang out and watch TV together. The sleeping arrangements were fine, everything was clean and worked well. A couple minutes' drive to the Tahoe Donner downhill ski area so that was convenient. We really liked it and would stay here again.

My grandkids (1yr - 14 yr) really enjoyed the slope in the backyard. The area kept them busy outside. We had plenty of room for them to play inside too.

Our three day stay with 6 adults and 4 kids went perfectly. Hosts Lynn and Patrick were as gracious as could be and offered several great activity suggestions that we took them up on. The house is represented accurately on vrbo and has a great lay-out for adults and kids being able to enjoy their own spaces. Location is great and had no trouble navigating in and out with snowy conditions.I highly recommend staying at this wonderful house.

I've never had a host be this positive and who provided with excellent communication and care throughout the days leading up to it and up until the end. We had planned our stay for months, but we could have never predicted it was when the Tamarack fires hit. Patrick and I communicated back and forth regarding this and he was so accommodating.
The cabin was super clean and had all the necessary amenities - I didn't even have to think to myself, "Aww, I should've brought that". The bunk bed/game room was perfect for our kids and the adults enjoyed the big screen downstairs for watching the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
The high ceilings made the huge cabin feel more roomy and there was a space for everyone if people felt like they were spending too much time together and need a break, hehe. (Like a break from the kids). The back deck facing the green golf course while the kids played horseshoe was so picturesque in the evening time.
I'd love to stay here again soon. We made so many memories here and can't wait to plan another trip in the distant future.

I do wish the house had been a bit cleaner due to all this covid stuff, we wiped down surfaces and floors upon arrival (but my sister's also a clean freak). Other than that it was wonderful!

Perfect base for Snow vacation
January: arrived just after after it had snowed. Roads and drive way was clear on arrival. Garage fit our two cars, negating the need to clean the cars off in the morning. Clean, spacious, well laid out property. Warm, good linens, easy to keep clean. Kitchen well stocked with range of pots, pans and dishes. Easy commumication with property manager. Kids room was excellent and vary spacious. Location was perfect for snow play as it is on a golf course, resulting in a lovely surface to collect lots of fresh, clean snow! We snow shoed round the fresh snow, made an igloo, snow man, snow angels and small sledg run all out the back of the house. A wonderful stay.

Truckee VRBO in August
Great house for three couples and kids. Location was very convenient for our activities. Easy hikes for families in Donner State Park and Summit Lake. Swimming in Donner Lake and Lake Tahoe. Went to music fest on the beach at Tahoe City. Loved the beach at King's Beach where we rented an SUP and kayak and water tricycle. Even saw some mule deer at the house.
Cooking at the house was facilitated with a great gas grill on the deck and a large variety of cooking stuff in the kitchen.

We spent several days swimming, did lots of bike riding & relaxing. The house is big & comfortable.
The open floorplan and location on the golf course contribute to making the property especially pleasant for our extended family. The owners are gracious, helpful and accommodating. This was our second stay at the house; we highly recommend it to other families.

what a great setup for family with kids! the house was clean and, more importantly, uncluttered. the upstairs play area with bunk beds was great for the kids. the kitchen was well stocked too! we had a blast and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!

Very nice and large home in prestigious Tahoe Donner area
We loved the home and location for our winter family vacation. Close to Squaw, Alpine and several other skiing resorts. Lots of good restaurants nearby, grocery store, and other stores. Amenities were nice including nice large backyard for kids to play in the snow. Loved the large room upstairs for the kids. They loved to hang out in there and we loved hanging out down stairs. Large kitchen area with lots of utensils and cookware.

Amazing owners, spacious home!
I cant say enough good things about the Sweeney family - they were so thorough and attentive to all of my inquiries. Their home is spacious - the perfect size for two families with multiple little ones. A very short 12 minute drive to the beach made it the perfect location for us. We will be back.

Very roomy home with all the amenities. Can easily sleep 2 or 3 families. Owner has guest membership to Tahoe Donner facilities including pools, lake access, golf, horse back, skiing, etc. Conveniently located near Truckee.

Perfect getaway home for the family!!
This home was incredibly comfortable and fit our whole family! We felt like we were in another world, as peaceful as it was. All the beds were comfortable and everything was very well described by the owner. I could not ask for a better home to stay in and hope to be able to stay there again! We had all the information needed to explore Truckee and the surrounding area. Donner Lake is so close by and perfect for a day at the lake or a leisurely hike. There is also a Natural Food store close by for anyone that has special dietary needs. There is truly something for everyone!

Great for groups small or large, very close to slopes or sledding out back
The house is beautifully appointed inside with all the comforts of home. With a cozy gas fireplace, WiFi, cable TVs, Nintedo Wii, and sleds under the deck we enjoyed it so much we wanted to stay indefinitely. You can sled out back on the adjoining golf course or drive a few minutes and be on the slopes. The owners communicate well and are really thoughtful. We plan to go back soon!

Beautiful house and nice backyard.
You don't need to go to boreal to play snow tubing, so I save money . Kids having fun playing the snow and snow tubing . My daughter and her cousins love it because they can play all they want. House is big and everything you need is there. Room for kids is huge. My family wants to go back next year.

Beautiful and really spacious.
Plenty of room for 10 people. It’s so relax to look outside the living room window into the woods, even though it was all snowed in. By far the best house I stayed in. Highly recommend it. The owner responds to your messages really fast.

Great home for multiple families
The home was great and spacious for our two families and grandparents. It was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The kids loved the room with two bunk beds and an entertainment area. The space in back of the house was great for playing in the snow also.

We all appreciated the location & easy access to recreation of all types. We swam & worked out at the Tahoe Donner Recreation center and at Donner Lake, visited Tahoe, hiked, biked, cooked and just had a great time.
The house is nicely furnished and decorated throughout and the beds are comfy! The kitchen is roomy and well supplied. The kids loved the bunk room, the loft, & the deck in particular. Thank you to our gracious hosts!
