The Wilkes Pied-a-terre shares its name and building with our original Wilkes House property, and is a 2nd floor apartment located above the famous Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room. You’ll wake up every morning to beautiful Jones Street, where cobblestones and ancient oak trees dripping in Spanish moss compelled Southern Living Magazine to name it the “Prettiest Street in America.” Rich in architectural details, this home has original hardwood floors, marble fireplaces, and 12’ ceilings complimented by stately furnishings. Enjoy a view of Jones Street from the comfort of your living room, where a flat screen TV is discreetly tucked away in the armoire. The connecting dining room has lots of light and beautiful antique furniture. The recently renovated kitchen is fully equipped with all you’ll need for a weekend getaway or extended stay, including a washer and dryer. The bedroom has a stately four-poster king-sized bed, reading chair, and plenty of drawer and closet space to unpack and settle in. The ensuite bathroom has a bright, walk-in shower and a large vanity with space to sit and get ready for your day or a night out. A walk down nearby Whitaker Street will bring you to several locally owned shops, including One Fish Two Fish, Number Four Eleven, and Lily Bay Studio + Bazaar. With a three night or longer say, you’ll receive one free lunch for two at Mrs. Wilkes’ Dining Room, where you’ll dine like a local and feel like family! The property was clean and it's in a very nice location. However, (1) the lockbox on the front door that leads to the building's entrance foyer is old and doesn't work well. It took multiple tries each time we went out and returned to open it so we could get the key to unlock the front door and then it took more tries to lock the key back in the box.(2) Given the large amount added to the cost of stay for cleaning services I don't think guests should be asked to put out garbage. (3) A lightbulb in the bathroom and one in the bedroom was out.(4) There are no convenient electrical outlets to charge one's phone or other electronic devices next to the bed or the desk in the bedroom. (5) While this is one the property owner may not be able to correct, the ParkSavannah app is inconvenient because it requires guests to awaken by 8 a.m. to pay for parking, then to update it periodically during the required pay for parking hours, and to move the vehicle to a new parking spot after 4 hours if they need to park for longer. (6) The bed is creaky! (7) The TV in the living room doesn't seem to work. (8} Paint on the walls and ceiling is peeling.

Been traveling to Savannah for years and this was the best location and most beautiful place we’ve ever stayed. Only minus was the mattress that was the hardest we’ve ever tried to sleep on, sadly we may not book here again because we couldn’t rest well. Otherwise very well appointed, we loved the unit. Star detractions are due to the bed. Would recommend with a caution about that.

This apartment was every bit as great as it looked in the photos. The location in the heart of the historic district made fora great getaway. The only drawbacks to staying directly above Mrs. Wilkes were some noises from the kitchen staff in the morning (on weekdays only) and the craving for fried chicken once the cooking started!

We felt right at home at the Wilkes Pied-a-terre. The unit is very large, well maintained and offers amazing views of Jones Street out the oversized front windows. The bathroom and kitchen were stocked with the essentials and the bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed having our morning coffee on the front porch and resting in the well-appointed living after walking through the historic district all day. We hope this location is available the next time we return to Savannah.

My husband and I traveled to Savannah for a weekend getaway. This Airbnb was the perfect stay! We love history, so staying in a historic yet tastefully updated apartment was a dream. We loved that it is in the midst of the historic district, so we could walk to most of the restaurants and historic sites! Parking near the apartment was not an issue, and the metered parking was super cheap! The owners also made an accommodation for us, and we very much appreciated their flexibility. Highly recommend.

This was such a perfect place to stay on our first visit to Savannah. It is located on the "most beautiful street in America" and is beautifully and historically furnished. There are convenient trolley stops nearby, but we easily walked to all the squares, parks, churches, and riverfront. Parking was free over the weekend (after 5pm on Friday until 8am on Monday) and $1 per hour at other times. We never moved our vehicle. We felt like honored guests at Mrs. Wilkes restaurant and the food was amazing. This would definitely be a visit worth repeating.

The location of our rental was perfect in Historic Savannah. Walking in we felt transported back in time with the antiques and decor. This was our first trip to Savannah and couldnt have selected a better location or property for our stay. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner while having lunch at Mrs Wilkes Restaurant. This is a pretty apartment. Very tastefully decorated. The location is perfect for walking to the river, around the squares. The only complaint was the bed. Definitely need a new mattress. No support and dipped. Hopefully the mattress will be replaced soon after this revue. We would stay here again.

As so many have reported, the mattress is terrible. It is very loud, and it is worn. I really thought it would have been replaced prior to my stay. There are many online reviews, and the in-unit journal also mentions it. Like others, one of us tried sleeping on the couch, which is not comfortable. Despite being very rigid about check in time, a welder was scheduled to work the first morning of my stay. In any other professionally-managed rental this work, which involved a generator and a lot of noise, would have been scheduled between check out and check in. “Don’t touch that railing!”, he shouted as we left the unit. “It’s very hot.”Parking is 2 hours in front, but we found five hour just two blocks away. The biggest draw for us by far (having been to Savannah 30+ times) was the ability to bypass the line at the restaurant. I confirmed this in advance, but Lucky Savannah (after payment was processed) responded that we needed to wait. Luckily the in-room journal explained how the system worked. The AC struggled a bit with the morning sun. I looked at the intake, and it was packed with dust. I don’t know if cleaning it and changing the filter would help, but it certainly couldn’t hurt. It is a great location. It is on the most beautiful street in Savannah. The unit is very spacious. It is well equipped. It provides an authentic experience. It’s filled with interesting books. It’s clear the owner wants the guest to have a great stay. It would have been five stars, but a good night’s sleep is critical for any relaxing stay. To me the management company is directly responsible.

Anniversary Trip
The apartment was beautiful,location was great, W.Jones St. is lovely in itself. The mattress speaks a lot, if one rolls over the other will here it!😂 We did not cook so I don’t know about the kitchen. I will definitely stay here again! Just to be surrounded by the beautiful furnishings was great!

Wonderful Birthday Weekend!!
Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprise with the beauty and historical preservation of our apartment! Check in was very easy and everything was perfectly ready to welcome us. The house is located perfectly to get to anything you want to see and all of the wonderful restaurants. On our last day we had lunch downstairs in the dining room (amazing soul food with love in it) and got to meet the dedicated staff and even chat with Mrs. Wilkes granddaughter and learn about some of the history and family orientation of the house and Lucky Savannah, so grateful we made the stop before leaving. We will definitely be booking this little gem again next year for our birthdays again.

There was a smell was very must and old like water damage. The lock was hard to close most of the time.Lot's of antiques / clutter though the house.The restaurant down stairs made lot's of noise in the master bedroom. So if you are a late/light sleeper this is not the place for you.You could not use the balcony doors were lock.The hot water in the house had a terrible odor and very difficult to take a shower or brush your teeth.The pic makes it look pretty with lots of light but it was very dark.the blinds did not work and there was very little sunlight even if the blinds did work to bring in more light. It was very clean and the location was great.

My sister and I absolutely loved our stay at Wilkes Pied-a-terre. We were blown away by the size, aesthetic and convenience of its location where so much was within walking distance. Such thought went into every design choice in this quaint mini-apartment! It was worth the price - especially with the complimentary lunch at the famed Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room, where you have the total luxury of skipping the long line out front if you call ahead. Our only complaint is that the room itself was a huge challenge to get into the first night we arrived. We spent a good 30 minutes searching for the correct entrance and lockbox, and Lucky Savannah texted and emailed the wrong keypad code, so I had to locate it in the app, where it was buried at the bottom and easy to miss. Definitely download the app ahead of time, as that may save you some trouble. Super easy check-out process, though, and overall we would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Savannah!

The place is beautiful - We stay there a lot - and one of these reasons is that we can continue to do our work while away online. However this time we had some problems - The internet was not working. We had to keep calling about it. We had to spend much of our vacation time dealing with this instead of enjoying Savannah - Also we had to call the office several times and even after asking to be called back and to have things checked on - we never received call backs - Very disappointing customer service - We spoke with Cindy who seemed very distracted and unprofessional in helping us. This is the first time we have ever had a problem there and is our favorite place to stay in Savannah - We come down at least a couple times a year to stay and always stay here - We will try again and hope that these issues will not happen again on our next visit.

Great location, spacious accommodations, perfect for a few days in Savannah when you plan on walking around the historic district. There's even a grocery store to walk to. Glad to have the 'kitchen pass" to Mrs. Wilkes for lunch. We've wanted to go for many years but won't spend our short time in Savannah waiting in a line when there are so many other excellent dining options. There was an abundance of tasty homestyle food to eat, and you can get your fill even though the dining experience was rushed: the first 5-10 minutes are spent passing the food around the table before you can eat.I felt rushed so more people would have a chance to come in to eat. Staff was friendly.The sounds from the Mrs. Wilkes kitchen did not bother us as we were there only one weekday. I sleep with earplugs and didn't hear a thing!The unit itself is very spacious for just two people for a few days. Would have loved to have been able to look out the window easily but the furniture is in the way. The living room is large and not well arranged for conversation, playing games or watching TV. We spent most of our time outside so it wasn't a big issue. Some of the dining room chairs seem a bit rickety so take great caution if you are corpulent. Kitchen is functionally-appointed. Bedroom is huge w/ a comfy king-size bed. Overall, a convenient and decent place to stay for a few days. But don't go expecting to see a completely and graciously restored Savannah home when it comes to finishes and bathroom fixtures. It wouldn't take a ton of cash to re-do a few tacky items that more attentive housekeeping and maintenance can't take care of.

I loved this property- it was beautiful and perfectly located. My only gripe, however, ( and it's a big one) is the security lights across the back of the property. The bedroom was lit up like daytime, and I am a person who needs the room very dark to sleep well. The curtains did nothing to block the light. I love this vacation rental I can't wait to come back the only thing I found disappointing was the stove it was in pretty bad shape I definitely would not feel safe using it. Other than that the apartment was just beautiful and peaceful at night time the sound of the kitchen below in the morning didn't bother me because it was not till around 9 or 10 that it started and it is simply expected being located above Mrs Wilkes restaurant.And even then I was out of the house by that time. The restaurant is closed on the weekends. Parking was easy as I bought a daily permit from the Savannah Visitor Center what's really was not expensive at all. I got to meet the owner and she was lovely and welcoming.
