Situated in Mendocino County, this charming condo for $210 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. "Nothing comes closer to perfect than Jen's place." Forest Suite is located just a few minutes south from the village of Mendocino on 5 acres of beautiful redwoods.This 560 sq. ft. apartment plus 200sq ft deck, is upstairs from my 2,000 sq. ft artist’s studio, which is not in use when guests are staying. Built entirely with redwood, recycled fir and barn wood with cement counters and shower this romantic getaway is a very special spot. The south wall is all windows with a deck overlooking the surrounding trees. It’s very peaceful and sunny and is frequented by honeymooners, artists, writers and those seeking total privacy. A few books and screenplays have been written here! There is an eclectic book and DVD library to enjoy. Take a walk through the forest; you will see a trail sign by the driveway which will take you through the property and out onto Gordon Lane for a longer walk. The solitude one feels at this home is remarkable. Even though there are homes nearby the mornings and evenings are quiet. Walks along the access road proved quite pleasant, with little to no traffic. The town of Mendocino is a few minutes away, and there are numerous hiking opportunities nearby. We stayed for three nights, and I found the home to be perfect for that duration. Overall, a really peaceful vacation - exactly what I wanted.

We couldn't have been more pleased. Jennifer has created a unique space that is absolutely beautiful. The suite provided every need and no one can beat the location. Jennifer has always been very quick and communicative regarding any questions or concerns. Of course, we didn't want to leave! We hope hope hope that we'll be able to return one day.

The location was amazing with wonderful forrest views and felt very private. I absolutely plan to stay again sometime if I get the chance! A few window screens wouldn’t hurt as we were joined by a hummingbird at one point (who we safely deposited outside) as well as a few bees throughout our stay when we opened the windows to let in some of the coastal air but other than that our stay was perfectly pleasant and we loved the multiple skylights as they helped the interior of the Vrbo to stay naturally lit throughout the day.

This is our second time staying here and we love it! There is nothing better than sipping coffee on the balcony looking over the redwood trees! The location is perfect, so close to Mendocino and to trails for biking and hiking! We will definitely be back!

What a magical place to return to after a day of exploring the Mendocino coast. A very comfortable magical property tucked away in a redwood forest but very close to Mendocino and beaches and coastal walks.

We had a small issue upon checkin but soon found out why this home and host are rated at 5s across the board. Jen the host quickly remediated the issue and then went above and beyond to ensure we were happy with our stay. This home provided a needed escape from everything. And the best part is you can go from redwood forest to sandy beach in less than 10 minutes or so. Very, very quiet. So relaxing to just sit on deck and hear only the forest. Will defintely be back soon. Thank you Jen

A lovely property in the woods but close to Mendocino. It was great sitting outside with birds singing and a stillness all around. A good sized studio with windows that provided great natural light and a view of the forest from inside.

This little studio is perfect to get away from the noise of the city and get off the grid. It was so quiet and so dark at night, perfect for us and what we needed. The kitchen was very well stocked. We had coffee in the morning looking out into the forest. We also walked along the trail to the road which was lovely. Only saw one other person. The bed is very comfortable and when we needed it, the WiFi was readily available. Neither of us had phone service in this location (Google Fi and Mint) but with the WiFi we could call on Fi. We plan on returning for more than two days next time. So we can relax and go for more strolls along the beautiful Mendocino coast. The drive to downtown Mendocino was easy and quick. Since there is only one unit, parking was not a problem. There are stairs but they were easy to navigate and although we did not go out at night, we could see there were lights along the staircase. Highly recommend if you want to get away from it all!

This charming cabin, tucked into a peaceful grove of redwood trees, is an absolute gem. The apartment is perfect for two people who want to spend a lot of time enjoying the quiet and one another's company. The property is lovely, comfortable, well appointed, and thoughtfully designed. The location is perfect--5 miles by car to the heart of downtown Mendocino. There is a Harvest Market in town that will have all the food and supplies you need to stock up and settle into your peaceful cabin retreat. We stayed here for just a weekend, which was not nearly enough time. We would absolutely rent this property again (and look forward to a longer stay). When you go to this cabin, and the night is clear, do yourself a favor... go stand on the deck and look up! You'll be treated to a dazzling array of so many stars that you'll have to work to pick the constellations out from among the hundreds of twinkles. This place is magical.

We are a mature couple, and had a wonderful stay over Christmas. The accommodations are just as described. The only sound outside the cabin was that of distant waves. We had a little trouble getting movies on the TV, and Jen was nice enough to help us on Christmas eve--we did get it going. The kitchen equipment is quite good--far superior to what you usually find in a vacation rental--perfect for cooking up the fresh salmon we got off the boat in Ft. Bragg. We spent our two days walking along the shore (Russian Gulch, etc.). The only thing I would remind older travelers of is the one flight of stairs (as is clearly stated in the property description), and the high bed: Great for lying in bed and viewing the tops of the trees that surround the cabin, but a little adventurous to climb into or out of. Thank you Jen for a relaxing visit.
