The interior of the home boasts of gorgeous pine on the walls and ceilings. From the bright, well-stocked kitchen, you will have everything you may need to cook up tasty meals during your stay, including all major appliances and a dishwasher for easy cleanup. Connect to the WiFi to stream some soft background music while you prepare meals. Sit down together at the large dining room table that seats 8 comfortably and enjoy a hot breakfast together before heading out for a morning of exploring the beach. This table is sure to inspire a session of board or card games that can be found at the house. Comfortable sofas and chairs are arranged in front of the fireplace so you can enjoy a crackling fire or curl up on the couch and watch the flat-screen television with cable and DVD player. View a gorgeous sunset or a dramatic winter storm, all from the comfort of this warm, cozy living area. The home has three nicely-appointed bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms.The master bedroom has a king size bed, the 2nd bedroom has a queen bed, and the 3rd room has 2 sets of twin bunk beds. In addition, there is a small loft up the spiral staircase with a full size futon that would make for a fun place for the kids to watch a movie and then get a restful night’s sleep. Pop the top on a local microbrew and head outside to revel in the unobstructed ocean views. Fire up the BBQ and grill up a dish that will please everyone's palate while your guests enjoy the private deck and fenced in yard. The kids can play safely in the large yard that surrounds the house while you get ready to serve dinner. The centerpiece of this yard is the fire pit! Spend quality time gathered around there in the evenings enjoying S’mores while creating some wonderful new memories. We have stayed at the Lookout many times over the past 20 years. The house is clean and comfortable and has stunning ocean views. It is a great place for extended family gatherings in any season. This was our 4th (or 5th) visit at the Lookout and we LOVE it! Feels like our little secret beach getaway! We have always enjoyed it being a dog family, access to a fenced in yard on the beach is wonderful! But this time we were able to bring our new son as well! This is one of our favorite homes on the cost to rent, and it’s always a pleasure to work with Shore Thing Vacation Rentals. They are easy to work with, always communicative and professional. The home is in the perfect location and always spotless. This is our first time back in a few years and we noticed the home is in need of some general upkeep; repairs to the woodwork around the windows, flooring, countertops, and replacing torn rugs would put a new sparkle on The Lookout. Additionally, the fireplace doesn’t draw smoke up and out the chimney which has left a layer of soot on the mantle and turned the quite ceiling dingy over the years - a fresh coat of paint would really tidy things up. Overall, you can’t beat the location - we’ll keep coming back for years to come!

We travel a lot and we do a lot of research on where we stay. We look at reviews from past guests to help us narrow down where we want to stay. I can say this listing is so accurate to what you see that it’s actually refreshing! We thoroughly enjoyed the beach off the backyard, everything we needed to cook dinners at night, nice showers, comfortable beds, open floor plan and lots of windows to show the beauty of the bay. I can see (and now understand) why people want to stay here again and again! Thank you for a great stay, we hope to come back one day!

I hate to give this place a five star so others book it up because I just want to go all the time! This place is incredible. We have been several years in a row and it is fantastic no matter when we visit. Fall, summer, spring have all been gorgeous. The view can’t be beat, the beach is very empty and there is great food close by. Nothing more to say than WOW! You will not be disappointed. The place is comfortable and a space you feel you can live in. It isn’t your fancy white living, but it is more homey and welcoming.

Perfect beach stay! View is panoramic from the front door and in the majority of the communal spaces. Incredibly well stocked kitchen for our food centric weekend. Walk straight out on to the beach (no climbing/hills, etc). Great location if you want to crab.

So far one of the nicest house on Happy Camp that we have stayed in! LOVED the shower pressure and hot water. Master mattress was comfortable. Incredible view of the bay and ocean. Turkey appropriate named as “ The Lookout”. Immediate access to the beach off the back deck.

This place has absolutely stunning views and a fantastic location for walking along the beach with my pups. It's a convenient, short drive to Tillamook for shopping, trips to the Tillamook Cheese Factory, and there is a lot of activity with fisherman and clam-diggers, along with tons of herons and other birds, which were really fun to watch during our stay. It's very peaceful and quiet at night. Sitting on the deck and listening to the sound of the waves was wonderful. The place needs some love and updating though, as it wasn't very clean, the living room furniture isn't comfortable (the beds were very comfy though!), but I'd still return if the host/management company could assure me some things were taken care of. I had to clean up trash and dog poo in the yard from previous guests, which the host/management company should definitely be taking care of between stays. There is also no usable furniture in the yard, only two old metal chairs in bad shape, with one having only three legs. The ceiling is very dirty looking (we assume from lack of any recent painting, and maybe a smoky fireplace, which we never used), and it really gives the place a dirty feeling. The service from the property management company, Sarah in particular, was absolutely great with regards to communication and check-in information, which was very much appreciated. I usually don't give long reviews like this, however, even though the place has some really great pros, there are cons that should be addressed. All in all, we are pretty easy people, so enjoyed the positives of this nice little rental.

This is our 2nd time staying at the Lookout and it is always amazing. We love staying there. The house could use a 2nd fan as it was really hot for the Oregon coast while we were there but otherwise the house is quirky and awesome and the new couch is comfy. We will be back!

The house is right on the beach so the location could not be better! The house is well equipped and comfortable. Using the TV however involves 2 controls and fairly involved directions. That is the only less-than-great feature, so not bad in the scheme of things.
