We really enjoyed our stay in this unique home. We had a few issues that were attended to quickly by management. I was told the home was walking distance to the beach, but I did not realize it was across the main road from the beach which meant the kids could not walk alone. The kitchen was well-equipped for all of our cooking needs. The beds in the second and third rooms were small for couples, but Ok for the kids. The outdoor space was very inviting and we enjoyed using the jacuzzi and sitting around the propane fire pit. We really enjoyed the uniqueness of the cabin and learning about the history behind it. Overall we would use this property again. The only reason I give it a 4/5 is because it is challenging to have to go through Tahoe City to pick up the keys and return them. A simple code lock could fix that. Also, there are some issues with the home that need to be fixed (ie; plumbing in second bath and the front door locking mechanism). These were just minor inconveniences though. We still enjoyed our stay very much.

This is a lovely home and well appointed, 5 minute walk to Chambers beach. The house is spacious and full of interesting knick knacks, memorabilia and games. Lots of backyard space to enjoy as well. It is a bit dark and there is some noise from the road but when you're inside it is quiet.

Log Lodge
Log Lodge
Our niece had selected Tahoe West Shore for her wedding location. We were looking for a comfortable and charming location that would accommodate my wife and I and our two sons and their wives. Being familiar with Tahoe, mostly State Line and South Shore we wanted to find something unique to make our trip to West Shore memorable. After reviewing several rental offerings via VRBO we selected "Log Lodge" based on the pictures and previous reviews. I must say that the booking and rental agreements went very smooth and were straight forward. Wells & Bennett Realtors were on top of our reservations from the beginning and when I needed to change them a little to accommodate flights they handled it immediately for us without questions. Their rental app kept us abreast of all the information needed for check-in as well as top suggestions for dinning and things to do. The Log Lodge was everything we had hoped for and was clean and accommodating. The furnishings were wonderful and the owner has done a wonderful job renovating! You can get lost in reading about all the nostalgia and journey of the Log Lodge which is part of the rustic furnishings. To top it off Wells & Bennett Realtors contacted us right before we left and informed us that they had just completed a new stone patio and installed a beautiful hot tub under a log overhang and to make sure we brought our suits. The hot tub addition was and is truly remarkable and was enjoyed by all. I would not hesitate to recommend the Log Lodge to anyone but a quick note: remember this is a log home and closet spaces are at a minimum but I can assure you the setting and furnishings makes up for that. Would love to see the place when it's snowing :)

Unique and novel place to stay with great outdoor views
Unique and novel place to stay with great outdoor views
The lodge is quite amazing--from the decorations to the bedding (the bedding was fantastic), we enjoyed a multi-family Thanksgiving celebration there. If you enjoy cooking, the kitchen is very well-equipped. The hosting and clear instructions of the rental company were also very organized. It's a one-of-a-kind experience, loaded with antique photos, a Victrola!, snooker table, lots of antique-y decor. I would caution against kids under 3--there is a lot within reach that they could break. You would be spending your time telling them not to touch things. The only drawback was cleanliness. Though most of the house and bathrooms were clean, the kitchen was not. There were crumbs on the floor, table and counter; coffee and grounds in the coffee pot, crusty food on the cutting board. Because we were cooking Thanksgiving dinner, we had to give it a going-over before we started. It seemed inconsistent with how the rest of the house was maintained, so I'm guessing it was an oversight before the holiday season.

Perfect Family Gathering Spot
Perfect Family Gathering Spot
We rented the home for Christmas for our family, and had a wonderful time! Plenty of space for our three adult children and their spouses, plus our dog. Very cozy, all the conveniences you need, and amazingly decorated. We definitely want to visit again sometime! The steam shower was a hit with everyone :-)

We just wrapped up our week-long stay at the Log Lodge on 7/29/17. Here are the highs and lows... Pros: Great for kids - they loved the fire pit, pool table, dart board, chess board and the short, safe walk to the beach. Good location - close to small market as well as many beaches, and nearly midpoint to both South and North shores. Kitchen - very well equipped, and as an avid cook I am picky about this. They did not disappoint! Beds - very comfortable!! Cons: Dark and a bit cluttered - There are dark curtains on every window and it is difficult to fully brighten up the place with outside sunlight. Every corner and surface seems to be covered with furniture, bottles, knick knacks, etc. This rental is not for you if you like clean, bright, open spaces with little clutter. Screens - It was somewhat warm the week we were there, yet we couldn't open all of the windows due to lack of screens. Some had screens while many did not. Housekeeping - the house was clean enough to get by, but not fully clean. Corners and certain areas could use a bit more attention. Kitchen storage - there are no cabinets set aside for food storage, so all food brought in must be strategically placed in different areas to keep it out of the way.
