Das Frühstück war reichhaltig jedoch etwas kompliziert gestaltet. Jeder Gast wurde persönlich bedient, was jedoch zur Folge hatte dass wenn viele Gäste gleichzeitig kamen Wartezeiten entstanden. Ich glaube ein Frühstücksbuffet wäre einfacher für die Gäste und das Personal.

L'emplacement de l'hôtel est idéal. Assez proche du centre pour y aller à pied mais tout de même loin du tumulte. Le jardin est très beau et la vue sur la ville de la terrasse est splendide. La chambre est grande et claire et bénéficie d'une petite cuisine.

Rooms are spacious with a separate kitchen area. Beds are comfortable. A bit further away from the center (approx 10 minute walk) but the outside terrace gives a nice view at Funchal and the sea. Staff are kind and willing to help.
Parking garage is a plus, but bare in mind the spaces are quite narrow.

Resté une nuit mais vraiment ravi de ce choix pour notre première nuit à Madère. L’hôtel est situé dans une ancienne grande maison de maître située dans le vieux quartier de Funchal, une extension moderne a été construite, l’architecture s’intègre parfaitement avec la maison et son jardin particulièrement bien entretenu.
L’ambiance est là. Le charme est authentique.
Dans la partie moderne, si l’architecture est bien réalisée on peut regretter le choix du design d’intérieur, du mobilier et de leur qualité dans l’ensemble.

Located a little distance from centre of the town but benefitting from being quieter as a consequence. Still easy to walk everywhere. Nice room and balcony with splendid views over the harbour (if looking at cruise ships can be described as pleasant)

Supersized beds, nice garden and terrace + excellent, served breakfast, fresh fruits and newly baked cake every day. We got a lot of good tips for restaurants and how to book hiking trips by the friendly staff. On our last day - we had to leave 2PM - we got a nice farewell meal as we would not be able to be there for breakfast... very much appreciated!

Die Lage zur Innenstadt war sehr gut, zu Fuß ist man in 10 bis 15 Minuten dort. Zudem gibt es direkt vor der Tür eine Bushaltestelle.
Die Ausstattung des Hotels ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen und einige Dinge gehören ausgetauscht. Trotzdem war es sehr sauber, da gibt es nichts zu beanstanden.

Lovely location. Beautiful views. The staff were so friendly and the hotel was very clean. The breakfast was excellent, particularly when having a really lovely garden to have it in.
As it is located in a quieter part, away from the main shopping and eating area, there is an uphill walk. However, this is Madeira and to be expected. There are buses and taxis available.

Sehr schönes Hotel im Stil eines alten Herrenhaus , mit schöner Aussicht und Hofanlage mit großer Gemeinschaftsterasse. Das Hotel verfügt über eine kleine Tiefgarage und man braucht ca. 5-10 Minuten in die Altstadt von Funchal. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Frühstück fanden wir ebenfalls sehr gut.
Unser Zimmer verfügte ebenfalls über eine voll ausgestattete Küche. Diese haben wir aber nicht genutzt.

Bel environnement extérieur et plutôt bien situé.
Chambre à côté de l'entrée et l'accueil. Extrêmement bruyant. A plus de minuit et demi, après 3/4 heures de discussion et rigolade du veilleur de nuit avec une cliente je suppose, je suis sortie de ma chambre pour leur demander de discuter ailleurs. Et le matin, à partir de 7 heures, vous entendez le dressage des tables pour le petit déjeuner. Donc nuit courte.
A ce prix, on pourrait avoir une chambre un minimim insonorisèe à cet emplacement en plein passage.

Le check in qu'on a pû faire tôt, très agréable. L'amabilité du personnel, disponible et à l'écoute. Le calme durant la nuit, une très bonne literie et un très bon petit déjeuner.
Hôtel parfait pour une nuit dans Funchal
On avait la chambre face à l'accueil, donc on entendait tout ce qui se passait à la réception mais aucun souci la nuit, pas de bruit. Le café est payant dans la chambre, ce qui n'est pas très commerçant.

L’emplacement à 10 mn à pieds de la vieille ville, le calme du quartier et la vue sur la mer de notre chambre. Le jardin qui entoure l’hôtel est beau et paisible.
Le tissu des lits et des fauteuils sont usés et auraient besoin d’être rénovés.

Breakfast was incredible and the staff were lovely and so helpful. The hotel is in a great location just 10 mins walk from the old town.
Our only minor drawback is there are a few dogs in properties close by and their barking kept us up one night. Nothing the hotel can do and it was only once.

De staff was ontzettend vriendelijk, attent, betrokken en persoonlijk! Prachtige accomodaties (een soort authentieke villa met moderne aanbouw voor kamers)met een mooi terras met uitzicht over de stad waar je bij mooi weer lekker buiten kan zitten met t uitgebreide ontbijt!
De auto kan in de garage gratis geparkeerd worden al is T erg krap als t vol is!
Het is ong.10 min lopen naar de oude mooie en gezellige stadswijk,terug is t wel n flinke steile klim.
Helaas was de wifi erg onstabiel (film kijken gaat niet)en viel constant uit (kamer 101) het personeel deed er alles aan om het te verhelpen maar twas nog niet gelukt tijdens ons verblijf

Schöne, ruhige Lage mit Aussicht auf Funchal. Toller gepflegter Garten. In Gehdistanz zum Zentrum gelegen. Kostenloser Parkplatz in der Tiefgarage vorhanden. Frühstück nach Wahl drinnen oder draussen mit netter und persönliche Bedienung.
Zimmer und Bad zum Teil etwas abgenutzt. Undichtes Fenster mit Wassereintritt.

Hotel très agréable alliant morderne et ancien. Accueil au top (parle français). Très joli jardin, très bien entretenu. Terrasse avec superbe vue pour le petit déjeuner. Petit déjeuner super avec des produits maison et de vrais jus naturels. Le parking est un vrai plus. Suffisament proche du centre pour aller diner à pieds.

Certes l'hotel est tres bien, mais on s attendait a mieux par rapport au prix.
Accueil relativement impersonnel.
Le qualité des chambres est décevante, mobilier abîmé, et salle de bain basique.
Le petit déjeuner est bon mais des confitures en barquettes industrielles pour ce prix, c'est non ! Et certains jus sont sans gout (allongés a l'eau) ?
Même le café dans la chambre est payant. Pour ce prix, une capsule offerte par jour serait raisonnable.
Le parking est exigu, si vous arrivez le dernier, bonne chance ! Il y a un parking public pas cher a proximité

Having spent 5 wonderful days at the ARTS IN hotel, we can confidently recommend it. Thank you for the delicious breakfasts, cozy room overlooking the garden and the ocean, caring staff. The hotel has a very convenient location to various interesting places on the island, free private parking, high-quality WiFi, fragrant white towels and bed linen. Thank you for a great time!

We loved everything about this property. I searched for weeks trying to find not just a nice place to stay, but now that also offered peaceful surroundings. We found it at ARTS. The property is located in a residential area of Funchal with private homes. If you're going to the center of town, you may walk (10 minutes, easy, all downhill), or take the bus (about 8 minutes - leaves you practically in front of the hotel). We never used our rental car while in Funchal. The gardens are lush and tropical, and also beautifully maintained and very clean. The hotel is beautifully decorated with a mix of elegant antique furniture and crisp modern touches and architectural details. Breakfast is offered in a gorgeous interior dining area, or outside in the patio, with views of Funchal harbor, city, and the ocean. The parking area is covered and ample. The hotel is very pet-friendly - our little Django loved it.
We stayed here twice. The first room was very large, the bedding (pillows and mattress) was comfortable, and it was very clean. A comfortable bed is a must for us! The rooms are soundproof - It was always very quiet and we never heard any of the other guests - ever. The bathroom and kitchen were both large, and everything was very clean. On our return to Funchal at the end of our trip, we stayed at this property for a second time and upgraded to one of the suites. WOW! If you can splurge, it's worth it. It made our stay even more special. It's a small apartment. With all of the above, but a spectacular terrace, high ceilings, an even bigger bathroom with double sinks a walk-in shower, and an even bigger kitchen. And again... everything was spotless.
But the crown jewel is the staff - fantastic, all of them. They made us and Django feel right at home. If you are traveling to Funchal, look no further. This property is PERFECT.

Die Suiten im Haupthaus sind schon hellhörig, Umgebungsgeräusche (Hunde, Mofas) - aber für ein zentral gelegenes Stadthotel in Ordnung, toll, dass es ein Parkhaus gibt, auch wenn es extrem eng ist

Absolutely fantastic property in a residential, quiet area of the city, yet literally a 7-minute bus ride to the center of town. The grounds are beautiful, the beds and pillows are very comfortable, the food is tasty, and the staff is fabulous! We highly recommend this hotel for your next stay in Funchal. Oh, and they are pet friendly! 🐾

I really like the atmosphere at Arts In, it's very relaxed, the staff were wonderful at creating a sense welcome and calm, and at the end of my holiday, I made sure to thank them all, because it was exactly what I needed. The gardener and I would nod to each in the morning, it just had that good, friendly feel. The ladies covering breakfast - brilliant! Funny, kind, charming, and having a slice of cake every day was such a treat, we worked it off with all the walking. Sure there was a little bit of scuffing on walls or furniture in our room, but nothing much, and it was super clean, and yes dogs do bark around and about, but welcome to Madeira! I loved it, it's modern, relaxed and the gardens are beautiful.
Having to go home! We didn't hire a car, but I can imagine getting in and out of the carpark could be a challenge at first if you struggle with swinging a car around tight corners. I'd say stick with buses/taxis/jeep tours if you don't love driving and save yourself the bother of navigating tight/steep roads. You get to most places that way from Funchal.

The ARTS IN Hotel is located about 15 to 20 minutes by foot from the city center of Funchal and it's location provides a nice view. It has a very nice garden outside of it and the rooms are located far enough from the street to be very quiet.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
I was a bit disappointed with the cleanliness of the apartment. The bedsheet cover had a large stain and the bathroom (especially the shower) was not the cleanest as well. The two chairs in the apartment probably could also use a steam cleaning in the near future... Definetly not something I consider acceptable at this price level.
A parking garage is provided, but it was very full and, even with a medium sized rental car, very tight.

Beautiful property. Room was spacious and I loved the views from the terrace. Friendly staff.
There were dogs barking constantly, since this is a more residential neighborhood. It was slightly distracting, but not an overall deterrent. I was able to sleep with earplugs.

Wir hatten einen grandiosen Aufenthalt! Das Frühstück war top, man konnte alles bestellen was man wollte und es wurde frisch zubereitet. Der Garten ist wunderschön und liebevoll angelegt. Alle Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Lage ist perfekt, um zu Fuß alles in Funchal zu erreichen. Wir würden sofort wieder buchen.
