Staff were excellent esp Julia. Pleasant, friendly and helpful. Evening meal at the restaurant was absolutely delicious. Breakfast is good quality. Good selection though repetitive over the few days we stayed. Indoor pool (basement) and outdoor pool (roof). Spa & sauna though I didn’t get to use. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Do note that no iron in the room even on request. There is charge to get ironing done. Also the airport shuttle is not complimentary 40 EUR charge. They don’t offer half board - bed & breakfast.

We had a truly wonderful 5-night stay at the Castanheiro Boutique Hotel! Every single member of the staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly, and the entire hotel was spotless. The breakfast was lovely with a fantastic variety of choice to start the day. It’s a buffet style but you can also order item cooked fresh. To top it off, the rooftop pool area is simply amazing—easily the best in Funchal! We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and would definitely recommend!
