This was our second stay at Palazzo Gamba. We enjoyed our visit to Florence the first time some years ago and the second time was also delightful. Our accommodation at Palazzo Gamba was a key reason why we loved our time in Florence so much. It is literally a few steps from the Duomo and beautifully located to walk to many other attractions in the city. The staff at the hotel are extremely personable and helpful. There are numerous cafes and restaurants close to Palazzo Gamba and it is a short walk from Santa Maria Novella train station and the adjacent bus station. The nearby Central Market is also an amazing place to visit. Looking out the window at night at the lit up Duomo and baptistry and just watching the world go by was sublime. My wife and I have no hesitation in recommending Palazzo Gamba to travellers to Florence.

We loved the location plus the balconies overlooking the duomo. It was just fantastic. Staff was very attentive and we liked that we had housekeeping which we were not expecting that. Overall it was a very pleasant experience.
Can’t say that there was anything we didn’t like. It’s a beautiful place. If I had to give a negative it would be the living room furniture could use a revamping and the pillows were a bit hard and flat.
