We loved Southbank and the hotel was so central to everything. It was clean and the staff were friendly.
Unfortunately it was very hard to sleep in our room because of the noise of a sidewalk crossing (think ‘bip, bip, bip’ every minute!) and trains. We used white noise on my phone but it didn’t cover it.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. It’s a great venue in a fantastic location, although I do feel the property is starting to show its age in a few areas and could benefit from a little TLC.
Parking out the front when checking in was quite chaotic, and it would be helpful to have a few more designated spaces available for guests arriving and checking in.
There were also a couple of maintenance issues in our room. The shower leaked from underneath the hinged glass panel onto the floor, and there was some mould around the silicone at the base of the shower glass and along the bottom of the bath. The carpet where it meets the tiled kitchenette area was also starting to fray.
The only other thing we noticed was that the lady at reception didn’t come across as particularly warm or welcoming on the few occasions we visited reception. A friendly smile can make such a difference when arriving or asking for assistance. Hopefully she was simply having a challenging day!
These are only relatively small things, and with a little attention and TLC, it would certainly make the overall guest experience even better.

Location is excellent
Parking situation was a total nightmare. I’m disabled and there was no one to help with bags and they expected us to walk bags around the block from car park by ourselves then up and down the lift. The facilities are very dated, the pool water was murky and the spa cold. Bathrooms cracked. Bed was very average
