We loved the location. Sitting next to the River Thames on a beautiful sunny afternoon was very relaxing.
We also loved how dog friendly the hotel was. Our Lab Daisy was welcomed everywhere and treated as a valued guest. She even had her own bed, treats and complementary toy!
The complementary snacks in our room were a great unexpected addition.

This property is absolutely stunning. The grounds, the public spaces, the house, the River House, everything was gorgeous. The service, food, and drinks were all excellent as well, and you could eat anywhere you wanted. In the public rooms, out in the garden, or even on a deck overlooking the river. They also supplied a lot of nice things in your room, including a jug of milk in your fridge, tea bags and a kettle, an espresso machine with pods, and mineral water. The housekeeping staff were excellent about touching up our room and replacing items everyday.
The only thing we didn't like about our room was that the carpet was very stained and even patched in spots. The River View rooms, which were across the hall from our standard room, seemed to have parquet wood floors which would have been a little nicer. (This is our second time staying in a 4-star hotel in the UK where the carpets were stained. It's quite surprising to walk into a gorgeous room and see such dirty carpets.) The other thing we didn't like is that the buffet breakfast was expensive, 25 pounds per person, or 50 pounds for a couple. That's 75 USD with the current exchange rate. We ended up getting a la carte breakfast, but that was pricey as well. One morning I ordered a "basket" of toast with jam for 6 pounds ($9 US) and it only had 2 half pieces of toast (one full slice of bread.) An omelette was 13 pounds and came with the same amount of toast, so I suppose I should have just gotten that. Also, I'd recommend you rent a car if you're going to be there for more than one or two days. It costs about $20 each way to get back and forth to Windsor by Uber or Taxi.
