Breakfast is awesome and the location was perfect. The only gripe we had was the toilet seat in room 233 was manky and definitely needed changing. It spoilt what was a perfect bathroom

Very efficient service in the restaurant, food was good.
Room needed a refresh and repair of exhaust fan, door handle, lights not working, view over the portico roof was marred by filth on the roof, possibly years of bird droppings.

The location of the hotel is quiet and away from the town centre, the restaurant on site was good, there was also an option of ordering food from the on site take away restaurants. The room was large, with a balcony that looked out over the car park and lake. It was quiet, and the on site entertainment could barely be heard from the room. We were provided with a tea, coffee and milk. The shower & bath facilities were great. The onsite entertainment was good and entry was reasonably priced. The staff were pleasant.
The suite needs a bit of TLC, there were marks on the dresser top, where the coffee making facilities are located. The sofa & chairs were a bit grubby around the arm rests, the chairs provided on the balcony were worn & broken. The bed was a large four poster, which looked very grand, but was not comfortable & creaked with every turn. Unfortunately, I did not read the room details correctly, I saw that it had a sofa bed, but did not see it was only suitable for children up to 12. Reception were unable to offer another room, and would not give any additional bedding as they advised that the sofa bed was not suitable for an adult. Neither my sister or myself got a decent nights sleep during our stay and came away grumpy and tired. The room could be really amazing with a few things put right. With the size of the suite, there is ample room to have a proper sized sofa bed, you could also include a mini fridge for water/milk. There were no cups in the bathroom either, which could have just been an oversight. Most of the cocktails were unavailable, the barman was quite embarrassed to have to repeatedly say no, can't order that one, we don't have the ingredients available. I had previously stayed in one of the lodges, and was very impressed by it, hence why I returned and booked into the hotel, believing that it would be on par if not out do the experience of the lodge, but I came away disappointed. All of this was relayed to reception during the stay & at departure.
