The provided room (#404) was excellent and the staff we met were very friendly and professional. We definitely will go back to this hotel, although we used this hotel many times before.
Because of the construction the main entrance was not so visible.

kindly upgraded to suite and it was beautiful. Dinner and breakfast were delightful.
Found the check in reception to be lazy with a disinterested attitude. he just couldn't be bothered and it shone through all the way to the suite with no introduction to what was where in the room. A really poor welcome.
We own a caravan park in Western Australia and our guests pay waaaaay less and my managers are better than that ..

new rooms are fantastic- very spacious but still in the 'Ritz style with some nice modern touches
the current dining room lacks the opulence and ambience of the original and by comparison is understandably disappointing

High class
Lousy service. I arrived after dinner at 00.12 and the door of the hotel was closed, nobody inside ready to open and I had to hammer with my fists against the closed doors. There was no doorbell to ring outside the door. After a few minutes somebody showed up and opened the door.
This is something that can be expected in a two stars little family managed country boarding house not in a hotel in downtown London, let alone the Ritz.
