Tout l’hôtel n’est pas comme sur les photos, même il y a pas de piscine, le personnel est un peu méchant et tout ressemble tellement vieux, même le téléviseur est tellement petit, qu’on arrivé pas à regarder rien de tout, littéralement presque la taille de main et tout caché et loin du lit

Great!

Staff are super nice and helpful! We found everything clean and during our stay, the room was being cleaned daily. It’s also super close to everything—the metro is 5 minutes from the place!!

It can use better lights. It is so dark. My mom, who isn’t much of a traveler was alarmed (everything was fine of course) but I do agree with her. For such a nice place, it is too freaking dark.

Fabulous, quirky, historical hotel

Love how strange the hotel is! Historically fascinating! The staff were very helpful and happy to aid in anything we needed. My husband and I found the bathroom peeking window very entertaining, not in the way the original guests did, I imagine! the surrounding area was great as well and had some lovely bars and restaurants. Breakfast was very worth the money as well, yum!

If I had to say something, it was a bit noisy in the area at night. Not so bad that I couldn't sleep though. Not much the hotel can do about that! But if you are looking for something in a quiet area this might not be the one for you.

Hidden gem

The room was unique, we were staying in the old side of the hotel, our superior room was "Antoinette" with a large bed, and bathroom, with sunken bath. Staff are great and helpful. The location was perfect for getting around the city. Four stops from the main station.

Given that the corridors, stairs and rooms were so dark for this price , include breakfast

We only stayed for one night but will book again the next time we visit Brussels.

We enjoyed our stay here. Room was clean and relatively spacious for the price. The style/decor gives the place a lot of character which made for a much better experience than staying at a large chain hotel. Front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The location was also great. The hotel is tucked away on a side street, so noise was not an issue, but is also near to many restaurants/cafes and a very short walk from some of the main tourist attractions in the city.

Pleasant stay in a quirky but charming place.

Nice charming hotel with a bit quirky, but fun interiors. My room was clean and the bed was comfortable. In the night it was quiet, outside and inside :)

OK for two nights, clean and quiet. In shopping area, somewhat deserted after shops close.

In a side street of main shopping street. Quiet during the day, even more so after the shops close. There is a restaurant on site and coffee corner available for free for guests as there is no hot water kettle in the room. Reasonably sized room with double bed and space to walk and sit. Properly sized en-suite with shower. The bed is fine (def not soft) with good pillows, all well enough for a two-night stay. Although modern some room items seem to date back to the 70s for some odd reason. At a somewhat walkable distance from Central station, about 1 km, be it uphill. Bonus point: around the corner is the birth house of Audrey Hepburn. It has a plaque.

The colour theme is Brown. Looks ok on the outside but goes on into the corridor and stairs and even in the rooms making it all very dark. The little lighting there is switches off too quickly to find the keyhole but with some fiddling the key fits. Lighting in the room is very minimal too. The street is part delivery area of the surrounding shops, so it can appear messy and unwelcoming especially after the shops close. Entrance to the street is next to Burger King with some sketchy characters lurking around. Ignore the emails you get about online check-in en check-out. They link to a third party site by the looks of it and it takes only a few seconds to sign check-in form. Same for check-out. Overall a good sleep for two nights if you get a price lower than 80 a night. Very unlikely these days.

Beautiful but would not return due to noise.

The atmosphere of the hotel is lovely - a beautiful Art Deco vibe. And the pool area is gorgeous! Location was great as well and near lots of delicious restaurants.

It is incredibly loud - you could hear everything throughout the hotel because the walls are so thin, plus there's a bar outside on the weekends which was incredible loud. There was also a leak in my bathroom ceiling that dripped into the tub.

Location

The room is horrible! Disgusting! The bathroom smells bad and the room smells like mold. The furniture is old, the mattress is soft, bad to sleep. I do not recommend. 👎🏼

Very helpful staff. Excellent breakfast that made up for much of other shortcomings.

Room was tiny and not as presented on website, bed too low, toilet/shower room cleanliness not good. Hallways very dark and narrow, using the stairs represented a hazard as difficult to distinguish lowest step from landing.

Would recommend for a staycation in Brussels.

Lovely hotel in a quiet side street. Room was comfortable and very clean - particularly pleased with the bathroom. The bar and lounge were clean and comfortable. The staff were great. Located close to the important parts of town.

The decor in the rooms was a little tired. Tiny lift.

Excellent location, but the room could have been a little fresher.

The excellent location close to the city centre. The staff was always nice and friendly. The room was tidied every day.

The sheets could have been cleaner or maybe changed more often. I wish there was a little wardrobe or at least a clothes hanger. A tea kettle and a bottle opener would have been a great addition to the room, too.

Maybe the newer part is better...

The staff on the arrival date was friendly and the breakfast was well sorted.

The room was unpleasant: - bath was in the hallway - floor had stains - shower wasn't functioning properly - shower was small and in the same 1 m2 as the toilet - wallpaper was coming of the wall on multiple places Furthermore - the carpeting on the stairs was rundown - the sign at the entrance needs some new light bulbs, because by night you should search for the EGR hotel instead of bErGeR... The old part of the hotel (it looks as though there is also a newer part) needs a serious makeover. It's not up to standards with modern hotels and definitely doesn't resemble the pictures on the booking website.

stay at the jardin secret instead

I stayed at the jardin secret instead because my partner and I was not satisfied with the main hotel room. other than that, Jardin Secret is so nice. loved the vibes it gave, so cozy so chilled.

the main hotel room was cold. So ancient style. good for a night sleep if you’re desperate.

Great value and great location.

Great location about 10 minutes from Grand Place. Room was great for the price. Staff was really nice.

The shower was difficult to calibrate to a comfortable temperature, it leaned pretty heavily to either extreme.
