Historical location.
Room was on the first floor, so you could hear everything above us at night.

Fabienne was a perfect host explaining everything. Right in the centre of Kaysersberg, beautiful accommodation in a beautiful location. At least 5 restaurants are literally only a few steps away and the others are also very close. Everything was perfect ❣️

If you stay here, you must also eat here. The food was excellent and the staff also 😀
I cannot really say anything, if the rooms were more modern then they would lose their authenticity.

I am coeliac and ordered a gluten free breakfast when I booked. However, they had no gluten free bread or cereal. I was able to eat only a few flavourless strawberries and a tiny yogurt.

What a wonderful place! The location is amazing, and what a privilege to be staying in a building that has so much history!
We also had dinner at the hotel and the food was excellent. They made us and our children feel extremely welcome.

if you want to experience what a village in the 13th century looks like this is the place

The location and the building were absolutely amazing. The room with four poster bed was beautiful. The dinner was served in a different building on the main square by waitresses in period costume - very atmospheric. Regional cuisine (more cream and butter than expected, but that's part of the experience). The morning walk within the wall was freezing but a bliss.
As we arrived late, we were asked to leave the car in the square and dine first. After the dinner, we wanted to organise our luggage (liquid in check-in bags, etc) but the staff who showed us the building where our room was insisted that we had to park our car within an locked (hence not accessible for us once parked) private parking. As our room was upstairs without lift, we were obliged to open our bags in the small courtyard. She gave us 20 minutes but as we hadn't finished sorting out, she insisted that we moved our car. It turned out that we could have parked our car outside of the locked parking, but in confusion, we were hastened to take the car away without loading the car with the bags ready to be carried to the airport. Finishing off and carrying our luggages into the building etc was an absolute nightmare and not how you want to spend the last night of your holiday. The staff kept mentioning her boss as an excuse to impose such an atrocity, but it simply shows lack of hospitality. We shouldn't have paid for our room in advance - they might have treated us with a bit more respect. Place was lovely, but this experience left a very bitter memory. One of the stone panel of the bath tub in our room was dislocated, which gives a shabby impression to otherwise a beautiful period bathroom.

clean rooms in medieval style, with nice view in this typical medieval village
first night a little bit cold, maybe turn on heating one day before people arrive in winter
8.0
The medieval setting is thrilling, breakfast was sensational, and the staff was especially pleasant and helpful.
It would have been nice if the hotel's restaurant, which has a very good reputation, had been open. Also, access to our rooms was challenging, as the car had to be unloaded quite some distance from our rooms. The challenge was perforce difficult because luggage could not be rolled on the cobblestone road to our building. Admittedly, we chose the hotel for its medieval setting, not its convenience.

Excellent food in an extraordinary setting - by the huge stone fireplace in a XIIIc building. Very friendly easy-going staff. Probably the best Xmas eave we have ever had.

We stayed in one of the superior rooms and it certainly lived up to it's name, with a canopied bed and huge fireplace. The entire building is absolutely stunning, and the grounds looking out over the countryside are beautiful. Parking was conveniently located very close to the hotel and the setting was so peaceful. A special thanks to the staff for kindly booking us a great local restaurant, we wished we could have stayed longer.
Floors in the bedroom were rather creaky, but only to be expected in a historic property. A shower curtain around the bath would be useful

We didn't realize the rooms were 2 and 3 flights up a narrow spiral staircase. One part of out family had a baby, carriage etc. was difficult with suitcases.

The setting in the ancient town
The receptionist was off hand and behaved as though she was Mrs Bumble in Oliver Twist. We chose the hotel because of it's restaurant. Only informed by email after booking complete with no refund, that the restaurant was closed on Wednesday and Thursday (we arrived on Wednesday). Only discovered on arrival that all the other restaurants in the town also closed on Wednesday. Turns out that Mrs Bumble had arranged for us to stay in an annex. When questioned she informed me that she had decided to "up grade us!!!"

Wonderful four night stay in a 15th century chateau in the heart of medieval village of Perouges. Very comfortable room with great view; friendly and helpful staff; excellent restaurant.
Nothing; everything was perfect!

We did not have breakfast.
The place is quite adorable. The rooms were nice and large. The bed was like an ironing board. Need new mattresses. Our main bad experience was with our server for dinner. The food was very good but our server was rude. She omitted some of the food items she gave other tables. We had to ask for bread. We were never rude to her. The other staff was very nice. It she left us with a bad feelings. I don’t know if it was because we are American but I would think that in a location such as prepubescent she would be used to people all over the world.
