We loved pretty much everything. From the moment we arrived, we were met very warmly by the lovely Cathy and her equally lovely colleague, Alan. The approach to the hotel, the hotel itself and the grounds are absolutely stunning. The spa is wonderfully equipped with all you need for a short stay, and the massages and facials are something else. Probably the best I have ever experienced. We stayed for a week, and it was worthy of every penny spent. The hilltop lodge was more than we expected. Very roomy, with all you need to self-cater (or not). Fresh towels every day. Plenty of everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Private parking, and extremely quiet. We also felt very safe throughout our stay.
We were just a little disappointed by the decking outside the room, but this, I can appreciate, is probably quite tricky to keep clean, as you are surrounded by woodland. The hot tub though, was wonderful. The views are being a little interrupted by the taller trees, but, once again, I can appreciate this must be tricky to manage.
