Situated in Lummi Island, this lovely house for $378 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. Welcome to Golden Hours 2, a beautiful, newly-remodeled beachfront home on Lummi Island's only beach with extended tide flats. You will marvel at the spectacular 180 degree view of majestic Mount Baker, Canadian Mountains, Bellingham city lights, and the abundant wildlife of Hale Passage from all three decks and every room. The home contains a lovely blend of contemporary and antique furnishings, with thoughtful attention to every detail. There are many comfortable seats for dining and entertaining, both inside and out. In addition to the three view-inspiring decks, there is a large outdoor covered patio with gas barbeque and sitting area. The main floor of the house is handicap accessible, including one bedroom with queen size bed, television, desk, and rocking chair. Also on that level are the kitchen, dining room, family room and bathroom. The cozy family room with leather recliners, media center, and dinette set may become your favorite spot. In the sunken living room there is a tiled corner fireplace, music system, leather furniture and a marvelous panoramic view of the beach and mountains. The bright kitchen includes all new appliances and custom maple cabinets. The large upstairs master bedroom suite features a king-size bed, flat screen television and DVD player, sitting area, and private deck. A corner jetted tub highlights the master bathroom. The second upstairs bedroom features queen bed, television and sitting area. Golden Hours 2 is within walking distance from the Lummi Island Ferry Dock, Islander Grocery Store, and Beach Store Cafe. There are roughly 10 miles of winding island roads for hikers and bikers, which mostly follow the shoreline and provide wonderful Puget Sound and San Juan Island Views. Bring your kayaks, jet skis or boats; trailer launching is available at medium to high tide. **NOTE: We disclaim any liability in regard to safety, swimming, damage or loss to boat or equipment. Clams, crabs and oysters are present, and seashells, agates, and sea glass are all fun beachcombing pursuits. Eagles, herons, deer and otters are often seen right on the beach. Equipment for numerous outdoor games is included, as well as marshmallow sticks for the beachside firepit. Several day trip destinations are within an hour's drive after leaving the island, including Vancouver BC, Mount Baker, Lynden and Bellingham. The space and location were lovely, with lots of cozy indoor spaces to hang out or curl up with a book. There was also an abundance of outdoor spaces plus a gorgeous view of the water and Mt. Baker. Comfy beds. Well supplied kitchen. I hope to come back!

This property was great! The house was clean and well stocked. The beds were comfortable and we had plenty of room for our family get together. We really loved having a private beach to launch our kayaks and paddle boards. The property felt very private and the views were spectacular! We would definitely recommend this to our friends.

Garrett provided excellent communication. If you can't find what you need at this home, you didn't need it. Extremely well stocked. We enjoyed sitting by the beach and walking at low tide. The island trails were fun. I recommend sunset beach. The home was very cozy & inviting. A wonderful stay.

This is our second year in a row staying at the property with 3 kids under 6 and we can't wait to go back again. Perfect for families with kids as there's tons of toys, books and puzzles. On the water, well stocked house and Garrett is fantastic to work with. Highly recommend.

We chose this house for a second time now to house our family for a visit with our mom on Lummi Island. This home has been perfect for us both trips! Plenty of space, amenities and a lot of thought went into the fact that we were bringing small children! I highly recommend this home for a family tirp to Lummi Island!

Lummi Island is a little piece of paradise. I could recommend few places to enjoy it better than Garrett's beautiful house on the shore.
The property comes equipped with everything you need to fully enjoy what the island has to offer, from a fire pit by the water, a crab cooking set up, and a storage room full of games and activities to enjoy on then spacious lawn in front of the house.
The house itself was roomy with plenty of beautiful artwork to enjoy. Garret himself was incredibly responsive, making our check in process and stay very easy. Better yet, the property is only 5 minutes away from the ferry and the island on the market, making it a very convenient place to stay.
Would highly recommend this home for anyone interested in visiting the island.

We rented this beautiful home for 5 days and had a marvelous time. My children came up and stayed for the weekend so had an adventurous time. We kayaked and cycled and played croquet and ladder toss and relaxed at the waters edge around the fire pit. Beautiful surroundings and lovely home :)

3 night family reunion at this peaceful lakeside home! So many thoughtful touches! Games for all ages, lots of sitting areas, wonderfully stocked kitchen, great communication with owner... It was a delight. I love Fall and the theme colors made it magical. You can feel the love that was in this home. We took walks on the road, just light traffic. But found Otto Reserve to have a short trail though a peaceful forest. We hope to return!

We enjoyed staying here- incredible view snd location, RIGHT on the waterfront, very secluded, house has the things you need - gas grill, all the kitchen utensils we needed, etc. Driveway is steep with gravel- 4 wheel drive would be preferable

This is a very well cared for property with a stunning view. We missed Mt Baker due to clouds, but it is still an incredible view with lots of birds. The Common Loon was the bird of the stay. There are lots of thoughtful extras including a well stocked kitchen (& a dishwasher-yay!). Met Garret and Liz- lovely people with a long history on the island.

From beginning to end, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property and the vistas are beyond compare. From fresh flowers upon our arrival, to toys and games for our grandchildren, no detail was missed. The kitchen is very well appointed and the house is clean, comfy, and welcoming. The Island is quiet, charming. and beautiful. We walked two of the Forest Preserves and one of the ancient cedar grandmothers whispered a poem to my granddaughter. No wonder, as she carries Lummi blood in her veins. She shared her poem with me. This is a wonderful place to stay. We hope to return. The owner is an excellent communicator and responds immediately to deal with any dilemma. We highly recommend this property for spending quality, family time.

We stayed at the property for 4 nights. This was our first generational vacation (Grandparents, kids, grandkids). Our party was 5 adults and 3 children (3,1,nb). There were plenty of amenities for the kids (toys, puzzles, high chair, sandbox, swings). They were kept entertained and happy. The kitchen was stocked with all the necessary equipment. The view of Mt Baker was stunning in the morning. Having access to our own beach was awesome for letting everyone explore low tides. Access via the ferry was easy (5-10 minute ride). The property was very clean and accurate as described in the listing. We have already booked a return trip next year!

We had an amazing time, location was great, house was clean and on the beach. Everything we wanted. Took boat to do crabbing, it was a perfect weekend. It’s after the trip was over that we got hit with several hundred dollar cleaning fee on top of what was already charged normally. We questioned it and was told several different variations of what was dirty like, stain on outdoor couch, crab mess or pots were dirty. We had even taken extra steps to make sure we were good guests and washed the pots and left on counter drying, started the sheets and did some light cleaning like most do. The biggest issue they seem to have is garbage. We missed that it’s required not suggestion to separate recycling, put crabs on beach and do composting with other stuff. We come from an area that we don’t have that and with a larger party we had a lot of trash that we bagged and set in cans provided, including the crab waste. They went as far as sorting out our trash I guess and our saying we’re the worst cleaning they’ve had in 11 yrs. Totally can’t be true. We kinda figured they are very picky with everything labeled in the house. All I can say is beware about rules of garbage and tread lightly in the rental and you’ll have a great time.

Relaxing vacation in fantastic property
We've just returned from a fantastic vacation at this property. A group of 5 adults, 2 children and 1 infant stayed in this fantastic property. Communication with Garrett was timely and informative before the trip. When we arrived the house was immaculate, everything clean and orderly, a lovely message left and all information needed (and more) was available right inside the front door. Access was provided just before the trip and worked perfectly.
The property itself is well maintained, in a beautiful location with stunning views. It's isolated from neighbours with all the amenities we needed: things we brought we needn't of (e.g. waffle maker and sand toys). The property had lots of games that kept the kids entertained outside. The camp fire pit is fantastic and set up with great tools again. The interior of the house is well laid out leaving lots of space for people to roam and the windows provide so much natural light that even on the one day where the weather wasn't great it still felt like we were outside.
One note, if you have young children and want to black out rooms at all there's really only one good choice of room so ensure you bring enough black out blinds for 2-3 windows.
Overall, a fantastic property and we would definitely return. Thanks!

Perfect island retreat for families
We stayed here with my in laws and my young children and it was the perfect island retreat for all ages! There were so many toys and games to keep everyone happy. The beach access was a very short walk from the house and the house had absolutely everything we could need for a week of connecting and relaxing.

We have stayed at this beautiful, Lummi Island home many times over the years and it just gets better and better. Garrett and Liz are amazing to work with and the house and property are very well cared for. It has everything you need and more. As Advertised
After a couple of days in Seattle we traveled to Lummi Island and had a great time at Golden Hours 2. The views are incredible. The hiking was great and the cabin/house had all we needed.

Wonderful Thanksgiving visit
Best rental ever! Pictures did not do justice to beautiful home. Incredible views even during the storms. Appreciated the generator that came on immediately in power outage. Great to have TV stations to watch football and basketball. Great toys and books for our 4 year old! We dd not need to bring anything for her to do. Even had first marshmellow roast on the beach. Everything we could possibly need was provided! So many books! Best surprise was all the fall and Thanksgiving decorations. Beautiful! We are already looking for a return date💜

This was our second stay at Golden Hours 2. We spent our anniversary weekend here with good friends. This is an absolutely beautiful home with stunning water views. Super clean, quiet, warm, and cozy. Great communication with the host. We'll definitely find our way back there soon.

Campbell Family Visit
We had an absolutely lovely time at this beautiful home on Lummi Island. The hosts couldn't have made things any more comfortable. House was better than promised. We enjoyed cooking meals together, having the children enjoy the play toys, wonderful scavenger hunts on the beach and smore's at the fire pit. We will look forward to our next visit. Garrett was in touch with me from the day that I booked the property and was extraordinarily prompt in responding to emails, phone calls, questions, and concerns. Additionally, he and Liz are just genuinely nice people who take great care of their property and their guests.
As for the property itself - there was plenty of space for four adults and a 10-year old to play, relax, cook, walk the beach, read, or just enjoy some peaceful solitude. The kitchen was well-appointed, being perhaps the only rental property we've visited to have every single utensil we needed for gourmet cooked-in meals. The house is right on the beach, which allowed us to harvest some crabs and oysters which we used for a family Creole dinner. And the view is absolutely stunning - we enjoyed many inspirational sunrises.
Lummi Island is one of my family's favorite getaway spots and all of us are entirely grateful to Garrett and Liz for sharing such a wonderful place.
