Cosy feel, safe, clean, has all the facilities you could need. Awesome location - great views and a short walk into the town centre.
Parking at and near the lodge is very limited, had to park 5 minute walk away.

Killer view from the balcony. Shower was super hot and strongā¦..the best I encountered in my travels about NZ. Very much backpacker accommodation with a shared kitchen and common room. I booked a room with ensuite, and the bathroom was a very decent size.
Killer hill to climb to get there if walking, but you know, no doubt good exercise.

It's hard to find places in Queenstown in Feb and Hippo were there for us. The room (with private bathroom) was clean and just what we needed. Staff were friendly and helpful, and there was a relaxed feeling around the place.
There is a steep hill to climb back from town, which you need to be prepared for. Some mould in the bathroom, and the cost was quite high for what it is. But Queenstown is fabulous so get in while you can.
