The beach is also just steps away for fun-filled days in the Florida sun! Located alongside the Emerald Coast Parkway, this vacation rental is within walking distance of several popular restaurants including the Back Porch and the Pancakery. For groceries and essentials, you'll find a Target and a Walmart Supercenter, both about a mile from this condo. And if you're looking for some fun beyond the beach, head over to Big Kahuna's Water & Adventure Park, the largest water park on the Emerald Coast, just a little over a half-mile up the road. Things to Know Elevator in the building. A resort fee (for amenity wristbands and parking passes) of $15 plus tax per person (5 years old and up) must be paid during mandatory pre-registering online. Website provided in confirmation email. This unit has a max occupancy, including children. These are rules set by the State of Florida and the State of Florida Fire Codes. The Fire Codes go by square footage and not the beds in a unit. If you arrive with more than the max occupancy listed, the HOA will not allow you to check-in and you will not be entitled to a refund. Parking notes: There is parking available for a fee and charges will apply for 2 vehicles. This rental is located on floor 5. Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit. More information can be downloaded from the "Rental Agreement" on the checkout page. Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 25 years of age to book. Guests under 25 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.

Great location to all things in Destin & Fort Walton. The 5th floor unit is wonderful. Easy check in with easy communication with property manager. Would book again when returning to Destin. October is a good time to book.

Absolutely loved the condo it exceeded expectations, however was disappointed that the umbrellas and chairs on the beach was not included in pricing, that is the reason for 4 stars.

Upon arriving we were pleased with the location, parking and accessibility of the unit. However, the unit is very outdated and the carpet throughout the living area and master bedroom was clearly old and stained and the kind you don’t want to walk on without shoes to be honest. The master bed was extremely uncomfortable and both myself and my husband (both 27 y/o) had to take ibuprofen daily bc our backs were aching and stiff. Also, the blankets were very thin and there weren’t enough for each of us to sleep comfortably and for my brother in law to have enough for the pull out couch. the extra pillows were nasty looking and the pillow cases didn’t fit? Anyway. The first beach day we tried to set up a tent for my 9 month old and were forced to take it down even though we had received nothing that said no tents were allowed. We were told we signed something acknowledging the beach rules even though I did not remember that and would not have booked a place had I know I couldn’t even have a tent to keep my baby cool and out of the sun. Turns out, the attachment with the beach rules were mistakenly left out of the welcome email but the vacasa representative quickly made things right when she realized their mistake which we were pleased with her kindness and ownership for the mistake. But nonetheless we did end up having to pay over $250 to for the beach chair and umbrella rentals for the week which was a pain but apparently most places are requiring that these days. On the 2nd day we were there the toilet in the master overflowed into the bathroom floor. I contacted the vacasa rep before 11am and was told someone from maintenance would contact me “shortly” to come check on the toilet and I asked if someone could come clean the floor so the bathroom would ag least be useable for showers and to get ready in. They responded they would notify them once maintenance was able to come out. At 5pm that day I contacted them again to let them know that i had not heard from maintenance or housekeeping and we were unable to use our bathroom or shower. Was told they were escalating the issue to HOA and we should hear from them soon. Well, we never heard from anyone and were forced to all use the small guest bathroom for the remainder of the trip for showers and to get ready in. At that point it was clear to us we had made a mistake in booking this place. I requested a late checkout since we were all having to share a bathroom and could’ve used the extra time for showers, was told I had missed the cut off time to request a late checkout and once again couldn’t find that information in anything I had received either but at that point we were ready to get out of there anyway. The location is great, the balcony was nice even though the floor was visibility dirty and sticky.

Loved the location and the Views are amazing. Close to supermarkets, restaurants, and Would have given 5 stars, but unit carpet is stained and older. Mini fridge has been out for months and you can see where it stained the carpet. Also need to rent chairs and umbrella on beach as early as possible, as they hold them for people who never show up, makes it difficult to get close to the water. Kitchen had everything to cook. Washer and dryer worked great too.

Condo was extremely clean. Updated appliances, nice decor, spacious rooms, superb layout allowing privacy for each bedroom. Beds were comfortable. Very large inviting balcony overlooking pool and beach. Our condo had a reserved parking space in the garage area next to elevator. Only drawback is the condo doesn’t automatically have a complimentary umbrella/chair setup so be prepared to rent one when going to the beach. We’ve stayed at several rentals throughout the years and enjoyed Sterling Sands the most. Vacasa and condo management continually checked co continuously to verify that everything was excellent with our stay, We plan a return trip within the next month or so, and will definitely book through Vacasa for Sterling Sands and request unit 509.

Great location and proximity to the beautiful beach. Condo itself was ok, stocked well in the kitchen. No additional blankets and couch bed is not really even useable for an adult (we had to go buy an air mattress).
Overall, we were there for the beach and the views and they were great!

The condo could use some new furniture. The springs were coming out of the couch bed and my 10 year old was not able to sleep on it. The recliner was broken. The master bed needs a new mattress. No muffin tin or cookie sheet. No space In the pantry to store food because it had kitchen supplies in it. Other than that, the condo was nice and we had a great time. Large balcony with plenty of seats.
