We were on a multi-day road trip with a small amount of groceries. The kitchen was well set up — each guest room had its own labeled bin in the fridge, plus shared freezer space, so we had everything we needed to cook dinner if we'd wanted to. Instead, we headed out to Gamla fjósið, which was excellent. Back at the guesthouse, we met the sweetest dog outside, who was very insistent about us throwing pebbles for him to chase. Later, we settled in at one of the tables inside for a board game after dinner. Our rooms were clean and comfortable. This was a great location if you want an early start to beat the tour buses to Black Sand Beach.
One thing worth noting: some other guests cooked a meal around 10pm, and even though our room was on the second floor, the smell (ramen, in our case) carried strongly. That said, that's really outside the host's control.

We had a wonderful stay at this property. The ambience was warm and inviting, the rooms were spacious, spotless, and very well maintained, and the amazing location was perfect for exploring the area.
We would be delighted to stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable experience.

It was all clean and very new.
The kitchen is a but small for all the guests.

Only 1 bathroom for 4 rooms upstairs. Another 1 bathroom for 3 rooms downstairs. Narrow steep stairs though.
All 2nd floor rooms have tilted ceilings I believe. My room is particularly bad. Only about a quarter of the room is full height, and half of the room is lower than my height. At the end of the bed where your head is, I estimate it's only 1 meter high from the floor. IMO, the height is safety hazard.
Only 1 available power outlet, but there is no room to place even a chair near it. Had to unplug the light of the nightstand to charge the phone near me, then had to move in the dark with the low ceiling.
Overpriced for $200 a night.
