The hotel and its grounds match the landscape in terms of beauty. Elegant but not stuffy. The restaurant is good, but the bar and wine program stand out. Niko, the sommelier, made the experience extra special. I'd love to return.

Gorgeous surroundings, excellent location, peaceful, well equipped and very clean and comfortable.
Nothing.

Location
The room above ours( we were in 310) was very noise with children running around banging the floor through out the morning and then the evening. Why not put children on the 1st floor?

We booked 2 rooms last minute and were given 2 lovely rooms in the annex building, including 1 disability room. Room and facilities we experienced were nice, clean, and fit with the environs. Going by looks alone, it felt like a 5 star hotel masquerading as a quaint lodge, in a good way. The staff was pleasant. Breakfast was better than expected. We did NOT encounter fly issues, like other reviewers. I did notice the buffet had lots of table fans to discourage flies. As of Summer 2026, fans were not provided in every room. *Please note, I personally do not have mobility issues but was staying in a disability room in the annex building. My concern is I don't know how anyone with limited mobility could get to the main lodge (where all services, restaurants are located) on their own because the annex is downhill from the main building (staff/services/food) is located.
We booked last minute at a discounted rate. Yes, it was still expensive, even for Switzerland, in the Jungfrau region, etc. However, what left a bad taste was the feeling of being overcharged once we arrived, in contrast to similar Swiss stays. E.g. During our stay we consumed 4 glasses of house sparkling wine, 1 grilled cheese sandwich, 1 small cheese board, 1 coke for 220 chf/270 usd). Or upon arrival learning, the booking.com (prepaid) rate did not include tax. Placing an appreciated but inexpensive cloth tote bag in the closet to use, for a high fee, if unreturned. What if it was returned worn?? We encountered hiccups that seemed to be due to communication issues, often comically b/c its near impossible to have a bad day in the Swiss Alps. E.g. waiting an hour for lunch, for a single burger to arrive & find out the order was never placed. Being told the pool closed at 8:30, then being asked to leave upon arrival before 8. Miscommunication re: our pickup & drop-off to the train station. (We ended up paying for a taxi to get to hotel after a long wait/getting dark.) No fan in 1 room b/c they couldn't find one??? Or maybe they just forgot? We never heard back, but for the price point, why wasn't a fan already in every room when daytime temps were reaching 90F? All these types of things add up to nothing that would ruin our stay, but seemed to be due to lack of communication, staffing, capable computer system?? Separately, while it did not affect our stay or my review, if you are staying in the annex building, the annex bar/coffee area was not staffed during this peak summer season. Again, not a problem for our last-minute booking, but we witnessed 2 guest groups upset their understanding of room location and non-staffing/service of the annex building.
