An unsuspected gem! Fifteenth century noble residence turned into a hotel 150 years ago.... and worthy of all of it! (The rooms are perfectly renovated, of course). We felt like Monsignore's personal guests. And the LOCATION - right opposite the covered market - could not be better! - And with all that, they manage to keep the personal family touch.
Oh dear - I should not have said all that. Now too many people will discover it.

This is a great old Palace and in addition to the wonderful rooms that we stayed in which was actually a double room, meaning that they were two rooms in the apartment suite. There is a very large common area with wonderfully period decorations that you can roam about in and have a great relaxing time. The hotel is right in the centre of the old town and so all of the sites that you want to visit are within maximum 5 to 10 minute walking distance. The food at the restaurant was very nice and the staff was very helpful for everything we needed.
Since the hotel is in the old town, you can drive up to it to unload your luggage but you have to park at an external parking lot a few minutes away. If you have a big car, you might get a bit scared driving on the pedestrian way. The breakfast was very good, but the choice was limited.

The location next to the covered market in the heart of Ravenna is unbeatable and the staff tried their best - but there were too few of them. Comfy beds and a kettle.
The hotel needs more staff and to be more organised. For example we had to fill in a form with breakfast requests and no one seemed to have then looked at it. We had to ask for everything again. Some things we never got and the receptionist had to go out to the bakery for croissants (Italian breakfast essential). More staff are needed and more lighting - the low lighting in reception and our suite made it seem gloomy. Zero atmosphere.
The pigeons which are roosting in the lift - and pooing into it - need to be dealt with. We alerted reception - they knew about it and seemed very relaxed about the infestation...
