Loved the location

We booked the hotel so we could use the pool. But it has been removed and we weren't informed beforehand.

Amazing

Great location, close to quite a few tourist attractions, close to the metro/train station. The hotel was spotless, best breakfast we ever had, staff is very helpful and friendly. We had an amazing citybreak holiday. Thank you.

Un endroit magnifique qui attend la fin des travaux

Sa situation géographique

Nous trouvons inadmissible que lors de la réservation nous ne soyons pas prévenus des travaux de 8 à 17 h et de ce fait la terrasse supérieure était inaccessible. À signaler également que l’insonorisation des portes des salles de bain était défaillante et audible dès l’aube.

Schöner und entspannter Aufenthalt mit der Familie, würde jederzeit wieder buchen, klare Empfehlung!

Das Hotel hat einfach eine tolle Lage, direkt bei der Kathedrale von Barcelona. Die Zimmer sind toll ausgestattet, die Betten sehr bequem, das Bad ist gut ausgestattet mit Toilettenartikeln, Bademänteln, Schlappen etc. Das Restaurant ist auch sehr gut mit wiederum tollem Blick auf die Kathedrale. Alle Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend!

Exasperating Disappointing Overpriced

The old city center location and open view of the cathedral enjoyed during our previous visit cannot be taken away and explained our recent four day choice of the top level balcony view "suite"

This once stately hotel with magnificent location across the plaza from the Barcelona Cathedral is unfortunately a four star facade now housing a two star operation. Balcony must be understood to represent a 12" projection without chair space and the cathedral square now daily entertains a cacophony of crowds, skateboards, vendors, stereo-speaker musicians, buskers etc until the late hours of the day. Closing the windows merely accented the noise of the ongoing interior construction (until noon on Saturdays) and lack of AC (after April says management) and causes you to contemplate the complete lack of any room decor (excepting a flat panel TV) while enjoying your allotted two day coffee supply (after which you must pay a 12 Euro replacement fee even if staying four days) A glass of wine would be enjoyable though there are no wine glasses nor any ice and phone request found a minimum 10 Euros would be assigned to any room delivery. So you use either of the two 4 person elevators (one of which was inoperable on day of departure with our luggage from top floor) though find the hotel also was providing public access to the partially reconstructed terrace (no enclosed seating) by the same elevators with a line-up on the street for such entry. A new I-PAD system had been provided in the rooms for hotel communication though we found the send function inoperable and discussion at the desk provided the ongoing response that it was not their "department" but would relay concerns to "management". Extreme rains on our third day led me downstairs at 8:30am to request an umbrella though advised they were already taken, and when asked how many they actually had, was refused an answer. Some amenity description mentions "soundproof rooms" though in the bathroom you would swear your neighbour was seated beside you ; and there is no fitness facility (except for the stairs) and no pool other than the bidet.

fantastic stay

The Hotel is in the center of Barcelona. So there are a lot of sites and restaurants in walking-distance. The staff was fantastic!!! They were friendly and helpful, gave us a room-upgrade... The room is modern and good designed, with amenities like nespresso-machine and tea-maker. We loved it and will return.

Went to restaurant in hotel but would not be served

Nothing like the pictures was not notified about construction right next door the smell of sewage was coming from the shower and sinks notified staff who stated they would correct it but never did

Basically enjoyable stay in Barcelona. We will look forward to come back and visit again but maybe another hotel.

Not really soundproof and also the aircon/heater was not working properly. We turned on the aircon for both rooms and in the morning both rooms became heater instead which make the room too hot we had to open the window to let the hot air out of our room

A beautiful hotel in an excellent location

A beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. Our family room was a great size for 4 of us and a good sized bathroom too. All of the staff were lovely and the breakfast buffet was excellent.

The location was amazing and close to Las Ramblas and all the shops and restaurants. Great walking and great location from hotel

I cannot think of anything negative as everyone and everything was wonderful. Staff was so wonderfully pleasant and breakfast buffet was wonderful. View from upstairs balcony was amazing

Amazing week in Barcelona at Hotel Colon.

8 nights, Superior Design Double Room with Cathedral view - superb! Nice size room with seating area (two chairs + table), floor-to-ceiling windows/doors with small balconies overlooking the magnificent Cathedral of Barcelona. Large, modern bathroom with walk-in shower, double sinks, etc. Rooftop terrace with even better views, drinks, filled with beautiful young people... 20-min walk to Barceloneta Beach via medieval narrow streets lined up with shops and tapas bars.

Exceptional

We had two rooms one was the cathedral view for 2 people and the other was the room for three people. The cathedral room was the best view I have ever had in a hotel room. It was breathtaking. The larger room was like a suite and just modern and stunning. It was absolutely in the center of it all with no taxis required.

Superb

Nice location, wonderful view from our terrace, and a very nice rooftop bar. Walkable to most tourist destinations, and the bed was very comfortable.

A couple of interactions from the staff that didn't make us feel welcome. On the first day, we were in our travel clothes and I guess maybe didn't look like we didn't belong there??? by the way we were treated by a few staff members.
