Check-in was easy and welcoming, we were taken to our room and explained where breakfast would be. Dinner was delicious and well cooked, only sorry I had no room for dessert!
The bed was comfortable and the room was pleasant, bathroom was modern, shower was great.
Staff were very friendly.
The mirror in the bathroom was a little high, I could just see the top of my head. Although the bathroom was clean overall, the shower fixing and hose needed some attention as there was limescale.
There was some confusion over breakfast, the details on Booking.com said it would be in your bedroom but it was actually set up in the restaurant. It was continental as stated, laid out was cereal and croissants but other people were given toast, which we weren't offered, so a little more consistancy would be helpful.

Great restaurant, idyllic village location.
The 18th century village stocks just outside the hotel!
The only thing is the self-service continental breakfast was limited and basic. I understand it wouldn’t be cost-effective to provide cooked breakfast on a weekday with fewer guests, but would suggest better quality and variety in the cold breakfast offered.

Good welcome, happy with the room and ensuite.
Remote control not working (but later resolved). The main light in the room was very cold white, and would recommend changing to a warmer light to benefit the room. Didn't have time to try the bar or food, which looked very popular even on a Tuesday evening.

The room and bathroom were very well presented. Very clean and good quality laundry and bedding.
I rang to say I would be late arriving and asked if they served food. I was told they did. Upon my arrival, I was informed they had finished serving and had finished shortly after my phone call.
The nearest place was 6 miles away in Chipping Norton from where I had just travelled.
The included breakfast wasn't available until 8.30 and was only continental with no option for cooked food. The staff were very nonchalant about this and dismissed myself and another guest who challenged this as the continental was adequate and nobody was available to cook. A nice stay spoiled by staff communication on several occasions.
