The accommodation was as expected. I was concerned about climbing the ladder to the bedroom (I’m 80!) but the downstairs bed was a trundle and we were able to sleep there without climbing the ladder. The facility is older, but was clean and sufficiently stocked with linens, dishes, small fridge, etc. I had checked to see if coffee maker or Keurig to bring coffee. They upgraded to a Keurig and I had not brought cups. A small coffee pot was quickly supplied, but did not work. Parking is a nightmare. $50 for 12 hours. The people who were in the front unit could have pulled forward so we could park there. Their car never moved all week. We spent a lot of time and money parking the car at different places. All that aside, the location was outstanding which is why I chose this facility. We were at most a ten minute walk to Duvall, Mallory Square, southern point, and many restaurants. A small grocery directly across the street was convenient and even had a small deli. I would stay here again....just not bring a car.

We had the most amazing stay at Island Pearl! Such a great location, and easy check-in process that made our stress away from home decreased greatly. My husband and I stayed here for three nights during the songwriters festival. The location was very accessible to Duval Street and walkable to plenty of restaurants and shops. To my pleasant surprise, it is also one block away from the yoga sanctuary where I took a hour long morning Vinyasa class for $20. it was a perfect place to spend our short getaway. Because of some renovations on the main house in front of this guesthouse, we had the whole pool area to ourselves and spent a few hours lounging there in the afternoon between meals or excursions. The management company was very responsive and helpful. We would stay here again for sure!

I have so many wonderful things to say about Preferred Properties, the Island Pearl and the property's owner. We have been renting this spot for 8 years now, and can't wait to come back. We had a wonderful stay. The rental company booked us 2 bicycles and had them delivered and picked up. We rode all over the island from our place. Apartment is close enough to walk to most places. It is clean and quiet. We would definitely stay again. Rental company made everything so easy. We liked the loft bedroom, but I can see that older people would have problems with it due to mobility issues.

We loved our stay here! This was the middle portion of our honeymoon touring Key West Very cute place that offered everything you could ask for - from the pool to the great loft bedroom. Also it was amazing how close you are to Duval Street, but yet you hear no noise from it, very tranquil.

Island Pearl is a small yet very comfortable cottage in the heart of Old Town Key West. It's perfect for a couple, as long as you are good with the ladder to the loft. You're within walking distance of everything, including the beach at Zachary Taylor Park and great places to eat or shop. It's quiet and the pool is very nice. Check in was smooth and Preferred Properties was very helpful and professional. The tiny kitchen could use a bit of a facelift and there was construction at the main building which I wish someone would have told us about prior, but other than those two minor things everything else was great. This rental is a terrific bang for your buck in Key West.

Tiny apartment is humongous on charm! Sweet, well-appointed and homey. Private, outdoor deck doubles the size of the place, so time spent hanging and cooking was a real joy — especially with the AC off and both doors open to KW breezes. And while it's centrally convenient and just a block and a half off Duval, the unit was super private and curiously quiet. We loved it and would stay here again in a heartbeat.

I will give the location 5 stars! Within walking distance of most anything in KW. Property was clean. We ate out every night, so did not use the kitchen. Found the loft to be a bit annoying for late-night bathroom trips! But, all in all, very happy with the Island Pearl. Very cute and very private stay.

We loved our stay! The outdoor patio and pool were amazing. We were so close to everything but it was quiet for when we were ready for peace. The grocery store across the street has everything you need! I would stay here again for sure. A piece of paradise in the middle of it all!!

The place was clean and had all the extra touches (full kitchen, bathroom, TV and music). Bed was comfortable. However, since the main bed is in a loft and you must take a ladder up and down (to go to bathroom as well) I would think this property won't be for everyone. The location is amazing. You are close to Duval, the pier and Mallory Square. The only negative was the pool was leaking and it was not fixed nor was the patio cleaned so we did not get to enjoy the pool and patio area. However, I reached out and preferred properties made it right and they did refer us to a pool that we could use. I will stay at a Preferred Properties again. Shelly

Adorable little spot just steps from duval. Very private inside the fence with pool (very clean), which we had to ourselves, however if you do have to share with the big house, there is a gate you can close with a patio style umbrella table and grill in your own further private area. Short bike ride to Fort Zachary Taylor (snorkeling), little further bike ride to Smathers Beach. 5 mile bike to stock island. The property managers will communicate via text and they were always immediate with responses; they set up and paid for our weekly bike rental with my card on file which made the process seamless. The bike were ready for us at the rental when we arrived. They had the rental available early as we landed in key west at 11am. The Thirsty Mermaid one block over has amazing Ceviche. The pizza place one block over was great as well. Cannot say how amazing it was to have a groccery store literally across the street. Many afternoons we walked over in just a bathing suit and towel to grab things to throw on the grill. Key West is no cheap date to eat out every night. The ladder up to top bunk is steep. Appliances are way out of date but they work….who cares! The furniture is old as well and need a deep clean to remove crumbs from the cracks we well as the wood ladder could use a bleach down, you never know who’s hands and feet are all over that, that is the only complaint I would have. We will be back!!

This property is located one block off Duval and within easy walking to Front Street, waterfront, great restaurants and bars, shopping plus there's a grocery store right across the street! Island Pearl is very small and ladder to sleeping area not for everyone but has it all you need. Private pool was perfect and very clean.

This was our 2nd stay at Island Pearl and we hope to return next year and beyond! The location works great for our vacation needs as far as close, but not too close, to the "fun" on Duval St. We LOVE the semi-private pool. This is the main reason we return to Island Pearl. The house is comfortable and super clean. It can be a little tricky going up and down the ladder, but so far so good. We did note some signs of aging and wear & tear, but we were also told that the owner is taking August to do some major renovations/updates. We look forward to seeing what is new on our next trip. Preferred Properties was excellent to deal with! If we can't rent IP again, we will go through PP to find our next rental. Angela was very friendly and helpful with bike rental, checking in on us before and during our stay, answering questions or concerns we had, etc. I cannot thank her enough for her help and excellent customer service.

Was not aware that we would be sharing the pool with others. 3 young girls unsupervised, doing cannonballs in the small pool was not enjoyable. Loved the two pugs but not the dog poop/pee around the pool/furniture that did not get picked up. Would have taken care of it but no pooper scooper. Would recommend better pillows.

Next time we will most likely get a unit on one level and a bit more room. Good value.

Was not aware that we would be sharing the pool with others. 3 young girls unsupervised, doing cannonballs in the small pool was not enjoyable. Loved the two pugs but not the dog poop/pee around the pool/furniture that did not get picked up. Would have taken care of it but no pooper scooper. Would recommend better pillows.

The inside of the property was acceptable. The outside definitely needed to be cleaned up and better lighting. Even though it was in season, we thought it was overpriced. But the location was excellent. Parking could be a potential problem but it worked out for us.
