This hotel offered the best breakfast selection of all my stays in the Azores, Santiago Island, which is a huge plus, with staff constantly refilling the buffet stations. I also appreciated the ample free parking behind the hotel.
The check‑in agent didn't speak English very well and wasn't happy to see me checking in. She interrupted me while I was unloading my luggage, almost causing me to drop six bottles of expensive liquor I intended to bring home as gifts. Fortunately, the bag caught on another piece of luggage and didn't hit the ground; otherwise I would have been furious.
The location is a bit odd, and the street in front of it is one‑way. If you are coming from the north side of the city, you must navigate a left‑turn signal that is hard to see, which can be confusing.
There are about ten spots in the paved section at the back of the hotel, but they fill up quickly. During both nights I stayed, I had to use the overflow parking at the back of the hotel, which was unpaved, making it difficult to get my luggage onto the cars through the dirt.
The blackout curtains don’t reach the walls because they are mounted very high and lack a pull rod to draw them fully closed. Light seeps in beside and below the curtains, making it hard to sleep. Noise from guests above me and in the hallway, such as flushing, showering, walking, and packing, is easily heard.

The room was spacious
Booked the hotel exclusively because of airport shuttle offer and it was never there, I had to pay a taxi and was never offered any sort of compensation, apparently it's miscommunication between Booking and the hotel management.
