We had a stopover in Barcelona on our drive to Alicante and we chose to stay at Hotel Barcelona Universal, this was a great decision later as everything from comfort to cleanliness and service were tip-top.
Rooftop pool was amazing and we made good use of it on the warm summer day of August.
Rooms are well laid out and come with all the necessary amenities.
The breakfast was again a 10/10.
The check-in process could have been slightly faster, as I had already pre-checked in by entering my details 🙈

Location was excellent. Room was big enough for a couple and good. Breakfast was good and had many options. Staffs support was excellent. Overall hotel is Good.

It’s central, clean close to public transport and eating places. Staff were super friendly who spoke English

The rooftop pool had a sea view which was incredible.
They repeatedly did not put away the spare bed, so I gave up asking after the third time. The water took 15 minutes to become warm and the staff were so patronising when I raised it. I wasn’t the only one. Others raised it as well, while others’ rooms got hot water immediately. The room was tired with things being loose or falling off.
