Non ci andrò mai più

Pulizia e parcheggio privato

Non mi è piaciuto il fatto di NON trovare una coperta nel mese di Novembre con stanza ghiacciata 10 gradi fuori e semplicemente un lenzuolo con copriletto estivo. Non parliamo del fatto che il riscaldamento in camera NON era funzionante e quando ho telefonato al proprietario per dirglielo si è negato di venire a portarmi una coperta (dicendomi che la coperta c’era già!!) mentre quando ho fatto la segnalazione a Booking miracolosamente si è materializzato, ma stavo già lasciando la struttura…

We liked everything about this place

Newly renovated hotel made up to high standard. Excellent secure gated parking. Walking distance to city center. Dennis, the host, drove us to the train station when we were going to Cinque Terra. Couldn’t find a better host. Excellent Wi-Fi.

10/10 very good service above and beyond!

10/10 great service the guy I forgot his name was so good with picking us up from train station driving us to accom checked us in early let us drop bags gave us a breakfast even though it wasn’t our day and then the following morning gave us breakfast an hour early made us coffees and took us to train station , very clean accom too highly recommend

Incredible communication and accommodation by the staff! Denis is an absolute treasure and ensures he does everything he can to help people out and enjoy their stay. He kindly picked me up and dropped me off at the local train station and was very forthcoming with any information and additional requests I had! The rooms were clean, air-conditioned, and kept in good condition overall.

The inconvenience of not having anywhere to do laundry on site, however I did know this going into the booking beforehand so it's not something I would fault them for at all! Just be aware if you plan on doing laundry here :) Once again, staff are extremely helpful in showing you where nearby laundry services are.

Overrated and overpriced

Very clean and modern hotel, very friendly host who also gives you a ride to the central station if needed.

The value for money ratio is not where it should be - way too expensive vs. what it has to offer: -The AC in my room did not work at all, only ventilation (it was more than 24 degrees at night), the host offered politely on the next day to change the room in which AC was then working (still not 100% but good enough to need a blanket at some point, apart from changing the room the host denied that AC is not working properly -The breakfast is too basic (e.g. no eggs) Simply not appropriate for this price and if I return to this area I definitely will go back to other hotels nearby which cost the same but were much better regarding location, amenities & breakfast. Not sure how the rating on booking can be this high.

Great hosts, great location, tutto bene!

The hosts are excellent, and will go very much out of there way to help you where they can. We had several 'trips' with luggage we needed into La Spezia and to the train station. They offered to give us a lift in what would otherwise have been a 10-15 EUR taxi ride easily. Very helpful! Cheers D!

A minor thing, but our stay was during a very warm time in La Spezia. The air conditioning was set to a remarkably low temperature, but throughout my stay the temperature did not drop below 26C in the room. Not uncomfortable, but cooler would have been nice.

Exceptional

The staff were super friendly and offered to help without payment for trips around the city and station on the return journey. The place was SUPER clean from reception to toilet not a spec of dirt. The girl doing this works her ass off. The bedroom has all of the amenities you could need and is very modern as they renovate once per year.

Cosy, good air conditioning and temperature regulation, great parking, quiet place, reasonable price

This is honestly the best hotel I satyed in Italy! For a reasonable price you get a high class room with more than everything you need (even with european type electric sockets :) what is a great problem in Italy). I would like to wish the owner to keep this level and reasonable prices! I mostly enjoyed the temperature in a room, the bathroom which was so clean and well-equiped and also I liked the bed with heavy warm blanket and very comfortable pillows.

Just a small note for the owner: It would be a good idea a make a higher threshold in the bathroom shower cabin because if you turn the upper shower on some water goes outside the threshold and may cause some technical problems in a while. NO other comments, everything is great!

Everything was perfect!

We spend two nights in the wonderful Millstone House. The rooms are smart decorated and super clean such as the breakfast room. The young host is extremely nice and welcoming. You can feel that he loves his job. We highly recommend this place at La Spezia and we will come back for sure.

quite far from the city center, a bit hard to reach. However, the owner offered us to give us a drive to the city center for both of the days we stayed.

Great location for people traveling by car

Our host was great and catered for all our needs, even ofered to drive us to the train station and woke up early so we could check out and fix us with some breakfast. Rooms were clean, very spacios and nicely decorated. Parking area was nice and secure.

Walls were a bit thin so if you choose to stay here be considerate of other travelers when coming in/going out

A Really Nice Place

I liked everything about this place. It was CLASSY inside the rooms. The avant-garde shower, the cleanliness of the room, the becoming ambiance, the lovely flowery smell in the hallways, etc. made it really nice. Dennis was also very helpful, too. I appreciate his willingness to help me. He even offered to give me a ride to the train station but I had a car and a plan. I parked on Viale Giovanni Amendola and then walked from there to the station, bought a ticket to Monterosso al Mare and hiked three of the five cities before heading back. The Millstone House was within walking distance of the station so overall, it was well located. (And the BEST pizza place I’d ever eaten at was just about 150 meters away.) So yea, if I’m in the area again, I’ll definitely stay at the Millstone House again.

I accidentally hit the mill thing in the parking area as I didn’t really see it (I’m sure glad I had full car insurance). But, if I had been more careful, I don’t think I would’ve hit it.

The best B&B we have experienced in all of Italy

Our host, Dennis, at Millstone House was exceptionally thoughtful & helpful. He ensured that we were cared for in every way. The whole place is beautifully modern, clean, spacious & very comfortable. He made a wonderful breakfast every morning.. I would highly recommend this B& B to anyone travelling to La Spezia.
