Reception staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful - special mention for Ashyra
Slav and Tony deserve extra mentions for how well the evening meal went. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
Special Kudos to the Chef for the main course of Stone Bass - worth visiting again just for that
But the dessert was disappointing in description and delivery. When a Gateaux is listed a Gateaux is expected, not bits and pieces with very little cake at all. Inspired by a Black Forest Gateaux would be a much better description!

A really nice quality traditional hotel, well-appointed smart and comfortable accommodation.
Breakfast for my wife was cereal, yoghurt and coffee, for myself a bacon batch and coffee. The charge for breakfast was £50, which I consider very expensive. The breakfast room was bright and attractive being well appointed with pleasant staff.

Told Maitre D that I thought fish not fresh. No feedback from him: just Repeated stock lines. Blue cheese overly acidic. Breakfast eggs overcooked. Coffee seemed to have been microwave reheated.
Staff were programmed rather than responsive.
