Buyer beware.

I know this is a cliche but if I could give zero stars I would. First of all the descriptions of the rooms are completely false. When I arrived and shown my room I informed the front desk there was a mistake because this was not the room I booked. I showed them the description on my booking, my confirmation email and what was still up on the website. They said that the ‘name’ of the room matched. I said the description is completely different and they gave me the concierge equivalent of ‘sucks to be you’. They made no effort to fix the issue or componsate me. Zero. I was not able to move to the room I booked or any other room without paying triple the price. No offer of discount or compensation was made to make up for their mistake. It felt like a scam. They said they would need to contact booking and then stood there and stared at me. They said reservations was closed and the manger was asleep. I contacted booking who did reach out to the front desk. The managers on duty basically told them ‘tough’. Booking offered me a small credit which honestly isn’t satisfactory but at least it’s something. At least they made a gesture. The staff at kampinski made no such gesture. They had the surley attitude of people who know they are scamming you and get offended when you call them out on it. The actual facilities were fine. If you’re looking for 5 star prices at a 3 star (at best) hotel then this is your place. The hotel feels stuffy and pretentious despite a level of service that is lackluster. The food is fine and spa is nice but small. The actual beach is gorgeous but the lounge chair mafia is in full effect. Everything is mysteriously reserved until you bribe someone. I made the best of a bad situation but I would never return to this place or any other that is managed by the same group.

Disappointing

Staff were exceptional

Over priced, $37 for a glass of wine (tasted like vinegar) swimming pools cold & dirty, hot tub jets were not working and damaged. The pool facilities are far below the expectations of a 5 star resort, the JW Marriott is able to take care of their pools therefore the Kempinski should be able to.

A short stay in Cancun definitely worth it!

Beautiful resort! Absolutely clean and perfectly serviced! You come to Cancun for a reason and the Kempinski is definitely one of the Top Hotels on the strip.

One could tell that the Hotel was mainly addressing USA Customers… the type and then style of food served, for example.

Exceptional Service, Style, Luxury & Privacy

Personal service and Manager greets you outside as you approach the front entrance. During check in a waiter comes and provides you with refreshing drinks and hand towels. The service is beyond exceptional and the facility is absolutley stunning. It's so amazing that you are excited to explore all the different areas and original historical artwork that they have throughout the facility. I highly recommend this hotel for people looking for luxury and privacy.

I cannot think of anything that the hotel should do differently everything is amazing!

Also thought (mainly after my husband was hurt) that they would at least offer us 1 night for free .

The resort location is quite attractive. Staff were very courteous and helpful.

We didn't have hot water in our bathroom. Every time we wanted to take shower, we had to call the concierge to fix it by sending someone different with a thermometer and have the water run for over 15-20 minutes until it was hot enough to be used and then right after I take my shower, it gets cold and my husband cannot take his until we call concierge and he sends someone else and so one for the whole duration of the stay. They finally suggested to move us but my husband had an accident at the pool and was injured so ut wasn't easy to move... I expected more of Kempinsky..

Wonderful hotel. Fabulous service. Best restaurants hands down.

The breakfast buffet is wonderful. We also loved the Eggs Benedict from the menu. The service is wonderful as in all restaurants in the Kempinski.

The shower did not drain well and pooled up during every shower. The AC stopped working well but we did leave it running for the majority of the time.

amazing! one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in.

everything! one of the nicest hotels I’ve ever been to. beautiful interior, impeccably clean; staff are super polite and accommodating. it was our honeymoon so they surprised us with strawberries dipped in chocolate and upgraded us to a seafront room! breakfast was amazing too + the service around the pool eg freshly chilled water and sunscreen on tap. gym was very well equipped, very clean, staff were so lovely and brought round chilled towels too

the property is being repaired or restored from recent acquisitions; bad paint smell, drilling and pounding noise from room above- disappointed. after 6pm, no pool/beachside service available for drinks. booking.com promised the farewell gift but nothing was provided. I really didn’t need the gift but still.
