Amazing room. Although this is right in the centre of the city it was very private and quiet. We decided to upgrade to a room in the governor's block and found the experience magical.
On this occasion our check in was a little delayed as the reservation could not initially be found. The seating area outside the downstairs bar as a bit threadbare in that the lawn was somewhat motheaten. That said, there had been drought conditions and the immediate area was a public throughfare. There appeared to be limited toilet facilities on the ground floor (one WC) but in a property of this age/ unusual nature that is understandable.

Restaurant staff, housekeeping and Nico (outside) were all excellent.

Overpriced. Service from reception is not at an acceptable level for the cost. We were not even asked if we had any issues.
The rooms in the governor's house are 2-3m away from an extremely noisy beer garden. Screaming and music going until 1AM. I feel ripped off that we were not warned of this. The AC also turns off after a set duration.
