De lo mejor excepto en la 5 (habitación)!

Sigue siendo una de las mejores opciones en PLAYA GRANDE y alrededores por su ubicación, seguridad y limpieza!

La habitación 5 es completamente diferente a las demás, su calidad es muy inferior, en especial porque hay mucho ruido de la cocina, clientes, personal y amigos del personal hasta las 10:30 - 11:00 pm e inicia de nuevo al redor de las 06:30 am.

LOVE Playa Grande and Hotel Catarana was a beatiful & restful place to stay. Wish I had come sooner!

The grounds are beatiful and relaxing with a nice pool and lounge area with lots of plants. It's a short walk tto he beach which is gorgeous and not crowded at all. Watching the sunset every day is a highlight!

I liked the property.

A/C and ceiling fan were not working properly. We had no power for 24 hours and nobody gave us any updates or asked in the evening if we needed flashlights.

Nice quiet property with lovely gardens and pool.

A small boutique hotel with lovely gardens and pool. The room was spacious with large bathroom and a kitchen area. The bed was very comfortable. There is a nice open balcony restaurant at the property. Breakfast was an additional fee with my booking. About a 5 minute walk to the beach. Will definitely plan to stay here again.

The restaurant had a good menu but the food was only average and about 15% over priced. Example, I ordered a Greek salad and it had mostly shredded cabbage. The safe was broken and would not work. I am sure the maintenance team will repair it promptly.

Perfecto.

The staff and the property exceeded expectations. We had 22 people in our group and we were well catered to by the staff. Also, the neighboring businesses were equally pleasant during our stay. Everyone had good vibes down in Playa Grande. Pura Vida. Extra shot out to Andrea who is an angel with wings.

Lovely pool and balcony, but the bedbugs really detracted from our experience.

The pool was lovely. The balcony was excellent. And I especially appreciated the robes provided in the room!

There were bedbugs in our bed. When I alerted the staff of this, they tried to tell me that my skin must be overly sensitive. But sensitive skin does not leave a fresh line of red bites night after night. While getting bitten every night was brutal, I really didn't appreciate the staff's dismissive attitude when I raised the issue. Also there were maggots in our coffee maker when we arrived. Between these two things, I would not recommend this place.

Beautiful place, with a few misgivings...

The staff were wonderful and the restaurant was great, with great food. The room and the grounds are very pretty. The pool is nice and we often had the area to ourselves. The nearby Beach was about a 5-minute walk and very beautiful especially at sunset.

The room we were in was below the kitchen and the restaurant. Room number five. Music and chairs were easily heard from opening until closing. There was a smell from the septic tank which was just behind a few bushes near our suite. We also didn't expect to be quite so isolated because the road out is extremely potholed in one direction and in the other direction small water ferries are needed to take you to Tamarindo.

Very poor

The manager, Andrea was pleasant.

We were assigned to a lower category unappealing room than the villa we had paid for. Futon in room was filthy and total junk. We cut our stay short and left the hotel after one night.

Disappointed - Dirty rooms and bad customer service

The remote location close to the beach and the little cafe at the hotel.

The room was dirty and worn down. The lady in the reception was very rude , and started to argue with us, when we wanted to shorten our stay to go somewhere closer to restaurants and bars.

Beautiful quaint hotel. peaceful and welcoming. The staff were wonderful.

It’s hard to find a negative, but if I had to say what I would have welcomed, it was a better internet connection.

The staff were amazing. Steph and Andrea were there for you all the time. They were so polite and helpful in every way.

I liked everything. it was quaint, clean and relaxing. I nice way to disconnect from everyone and enjoy your time.

My AC did not cool the room down.

incredible value for money in private resort community

incredible value for money. the property was clean, beautiful - felt like a mini resort oasis with only 5 rooms. cute cafe and restaurant on site, access to yoga classes and beach right down the street. couldn’t ask for anything better

Superb

It’s small with a good pool and restaurant and located within easy walking distance to a fantastic and quiet beach. The beach is great to learn surfing or to run along and to watch great sunsets and pelicans fishing.

calm location few steps from the beach.

we had room 5 under restaurant. our room wasn ´n for 3 as we booked so they had to add noisy extra bed and put out table and chairs. you can hear from the restaurant every washed glass, chair, voices. But rooms 1-4 are spacy and on the other side of the garden - those we have choosed on booking, they should charge max 70 % for room five.

Lovely

gorgeous big bed, clean bathroom, AC. great cafe on site and very close to Playa Grande. I took a very long bus from San Jose so arrived at midnight and checked out at 10:00, so wasn’t there long enough to give an insightful review!

Nice quiet modern small hotel close to the beach but not beach front!

Very comfortable nice room! large bathroom and nice hot shower. Large flat screen TV, Nice sitting area outside of room! Wonderful beach close by.Food and service was very good.

A beautiful luxurious villa in a cozy garden.

Villa No. 4 is a luxurious bungalow in a beautiful garden, with a great pool. Clean and superbly furnished, with a well equipped kitchen and a nice outdoor seating area. Superbly friendly staff at the reception.

Minor drawbacks, mostly related to maintenance - problems with the door lock and the bedroom window that didn't open. Some arrogance of the restaurant staff (however, this is probably irrelevant to the hotel service).
