Very nice hotel located in the beautiful town of Wernigerode. Parking available underneath the hotel. Very comfortable rooms, good amenities. I would stay again!

Hotel is clean, beds are comfy, lots of ammenities and had been refurbished earlier. Breakfast had plenty of choices and enough to choose from. Overall, hotel is a solid 4/5 (except personnel).
Onboarding was awful. Reception staff was super unhelpful and literally the worst from all my experiences in Germany. Even though you pay some decent money, the obese lady from the reception behaves like you’ve eaten her lunch….
During these 5 minutes that we were checking in, she gave me several judgemental looks, making me feel super uncomfortable. Also, they didn’t speak 1 word of english and more than that spoke german that my native speaker girlfriend could barely understand. We had to ask her about everything by ourselves since she’s super uninterested in explaining the basic hotel amenities to her guests (breakfast hours, how to park the car, etc.). God bless the hotel has an app where everything can be easily seen. Anyway, if I was the general manager, I’d fire all the ladies from the reception without hesitation. Customer service = PATHETIC.

The comfort rooms are nicely furnished and worth the extra money. Breakfast buffet selection was varied and good quality.
Didn't realise there is no a/c - however the hotel's reasonably insulated, so not a major issue.
The WiFi is useless for watching videos - definitely not high speed as advertised. Fine if you only have emails.

Location and breakfast were the only saving grace for our stay.
There were barely any amenities for a 4 star hotel. There was no in- room kettle, coffee or Tee. There were no toiletries except a handwash and a shower gel. No moisturizer or shampoo. For over a 150 euros per night there was no regular room cleaning unless requested one day prior. The bed was super uncomfortable and for a couple weeks had two single beds joined together. We woke up with new body aches every morning. Don’t expect an early check in at all even though we had informed of our arrival and requested an early check in a week prior to our arrival. They just expected us to sit at reception untill 4pm and keep checking with them if we could check in every hour. We weren’t allowed to sit at a table of our choice for breakfast.
