Location was great opposite the railway yards watching steam engines at work. Also very close to main station and the old town.
Breakfast was very poor and a meal we had in the main restaurant was not good. We found much better in town. Also steam trips up the Brocken had been cancelled due to fire risk, but fortunately all the other lines were running in steam as normal so we did not go up the Brocken. I felt it was a bureaucratic decision to close steam rather than an actual risk.

Ideal location and lovely large room. Loved the idea and seeing other having their drinks and deseert save by train, though we were seated away from the tracks. Overall, an experience I'm glad we had. The
We were clearly on holiday and given far more time to wait in line for a table and for service than other guests who were perhaps from closer by. I did raise the issue of a lack of follow up service with the staff - and we did get a complementary bottle of water that would have been very welcome indeed during the meal

If you're coming for the Harz Railway the location is terrific, opposite the yard and 5 minutes to the stations. The very nice town is about 10 minutes away. The bar/restaurant is amusing, with drink service by train and another train going round above your head. Overall the hotel is fine, reasonable value, breakfast satisfactory, room adequate and friendly staff.

Location proximity to railway station as I was there to see the Harz Mountain Railway. Breakfast was simple but reasonable, restaurant offered ok food. Room and hotel was Clean and price was very reasonable.
Not many staff, reception is in the bar and to check in it took some time to get service as they were servicing bar customers.
Further Service in the Bar and Restaurant was very slow and paying was a challenge as it seemed only one person was permitted to take payment which resulted in long delays to pay bills.
