Lovely bar area, friendly staff, nice clean room, fab breakfast.
Not keen on self check in - feels impersonal - it’s more a question of personal taste, but I think having a human present at check in is not too difficult? It also felt a bit weird going down to a busy bar during the evening asking at the till for a pillow and some milk! Middle aged men supping on their pints maybe doesn’t mix with mad middle aged lady asking for a pillow! Notwithstanding this, I then had to ask again about 25 mins later, and to be fair, I got what was requested immediately with an apology and a “it’s been very busy”. The staff are so lovely - they don’t need to hide behind a self check in! I’d suggest that having dedicated “hotel” staff would also save mixing pub business with routine room requests, and make everyone’s life easier. The staff looked pushed to cope with a busy bar and routine room requests.

The staff were friendly, food was lovely and room was clean.
The bed was uncomfortable and I kept banging my legs on the wooden base. No room to walk around the bed.

Room very small, although we paid for larger room, not sure that it was allocated to us.

Dinner was good but they had run out of quite a few options.
After checking in remotely, it wasn't clear where our room was. The room was tiny but functional. We weren't advised that booking a time slot for breakfast was essential, so had to wait an hour. The breakfast staff were complaining that they were short staffed.
