Brecon Beacons is a beautiful area and the Tanners' Arms is well located to explore the area.

Breakfast was very good although a bit late (9:05).

The only negative was we had a room facing the main road and at night there were these motorcycles roaring by. Couldn't properly sleep.

Rude staff

Location was suitable for the business needs

The owner was not hospitable. Booking.com priced the room rate incorrectly and she refused to take ownership and sort out. It took many telephone calls to sort - she refused to give her direct email address too. She was also rude to our staff member on arrival and was complaining to him about the room rate. He paid £10 for a pizza and it was burnt underneath.

A super stay for a solo walker. Fed well. Slept well.

Excellent accommodation, a bookshelf with walking routes and fiction was used. Breakfast was proper yum and kept me full for a days walk. Evening meal (and wine) equally fantastic. Staff lovely to chat to and provided recommendations for walks which was much appreciated.

Great village pub to rest your weary feet!

Staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Bed was very comfortable and though our room faced the main road it was perfectly quiet by night. Food and selection of drinks were delicious and hearty - just what you want after a long day of walking. Definitely recommend the pies! Also Tracey's cooked breakfast in the morning is so good to start the day. Pub was cosy with an array of books and useful leaflets for tourist attractions. Car parking is limited at the front but plenty of space on the side or opposite side of road. Location is perfect for those wanting to be fairly close to mountain walks. About 15 minutes away from Storey Arm car park for hikes to Pen Y Fan.

I didn't realise our room had a door connected to another room however this was locked with furniture against it so no issues security-wise.

Amazing breakfast - one of the best. Really good fresh ingredients. Great location for what I wanted (access to walking in the Beacons). Easy parking.

No wi-fi in my room. I should have checked. In the end not a big deal because I was tired after a long day on the hills and went to sleep early. There isn't really a town/village.

It was okay. Not sure if I'll be back to be honest.

The location. Brecons is a beautiful spot and wanted to stay in a pub so we could have a drink if the weather turned bad. That's about it really. The pub was alright, not sure I'd rate the beers on tap to be honest but made up for with a good selection of whisky!

Not the most friendly of welcomes if I'm honest. Wasn't particularly unfriendly but just could have been a bit more welcoming to new guests. The room itself was a bit underwhelming. There was no running cold water and some of the appliances were not working properly such as the bedside lamps didn't have anywhere to be plugged in so they were just for show. The TV kept turning itself on and off randomly throughout the night and overall it was a lot smaller than I thought it was going to be.

freindly, lovely room but noisy

the accommodation had its own access from behind the pub. The single room was very clean and tidy and cosy. The owners and staff were really nice and helpful, the full English breakfast was excellent.

There was no or very little parking in front or in close proximity to the accommodation. The room stated it had tv but it didn’t work, there was no toilet roll on arrival, the code to the push pad coded door entry system that you are provided with is incorrect which caused lots of confusion trying to get into to the accommodation however the owners and staff where very helpful to sort this out. this is a local pub the rooms are directly above the pub, it’s very noisy until all hours of the morning.

Misleading information (ie) No log fire as stated on the website. Limited menu during winter months and didn’t really cater for vegetarians. I was told the exact opposite when I rang up. Really poor all round. Compensation would help as it ruined a special occasion.

Great location for exploring the area and had a proper pub charm about it. ladies who own the place couldn’t have been nicer. Amazing breakfast. For the price comparison locally, can’t be better value.

Sadly won't return

Breakfast was amazing.

Being made to feel really unwelcome. Also being told food was unavailable due to having and event on that evening, and that the following day they would be closed. But not to worry they will do us breakfast as I had already got that in the booking confirmation. Jackie has no customer service skills, and seemed upset that we had booked in for 2 nights. (Pre booked over 6 months in advance, so not a last minute inconvenience). 3rd visit to the tanners, but seems hands had changed since last visit. Shouldnt of been an issue but sadly made alot of difference.

A perfect place for my needs, surrounded by great countryside and landscape views.

Easy going staff with a flexible attitude and they served a great breakfast. This is the second time I’ve stayed and it’s perfect for my needs.

IT WAS A GOOD LOCATION TO VISIT OTHER AREAS

THE BREAKFAST WAS VERY GOOD AND THE EVENING MEALS WERE VALUE FOR MONEY. THE VIEW FROM OUR ROOM WAS VERY GOOD

THE ROOM WAS VERY SMALL, IF SOMEONE WAS STANDING AT THE FOOT OF THE BED THEY HAD TO MOVE BEFORE SOMEONE ELSE WENT ROUND TO THE OTHER SIDE.

A great little pub with very welcoming proprietors

Jackie and Tracy were very welcoming and made sure that we were comfortable and had everything that we needed. The room was clean and well equipped. The menu was good and very well executed and the range of drinks was excellent. The Tanners Arms is very well situated for walking in the Brecon Beacons and the surrounding area.
