Wonderful staff, very patient with a non Japanese speaker. Traditional room is lovely, comes with a complimentary yukata (4 sizes available) to wear around town to the baths and a pass that gives you 26 hours access to all the baths. Super convenient to the train station and still close to everything else. Amazing breakfast and dinners. I hope to come back in the future!
Room does not have a shower, just sink and toilet. I may not have read the description closely.

great location, onsen pass included, comfy beds, traditional ryonkan architecture, great breakfast, free drinks and snacks during happy hour.
Two onsens on site that were incredible. Be sure to get the onsen map and stamp to soak in all seven in town:)
everything was great. we were there in the off season so at dinner alot of restaurants were booked or closed. half board would be a good idea if you're ok with traditional Japanese food.

Staff is fantastic, rooms were beautiful, private baths are excellent. You receive a yukata for use during your stay.
Restaurant is also very good with great staff.
Nothing. Only to note it is a small quite town where everything revolves about the authentic accommodations and the onsen experience. If you aren't looking for that this isn't for you.

Koyado Enn is just two minutes from the station and right in the centre of the Main Street. Excellent location. Ryokan staff were very helpful. meals were included in my stay and dinner was high end restaurant standard. both nights consisted of Tajima beef which was heavenly. The second night’s dinner was an actual yakiniku and it was heaven. My room was a very adequate size and the western bed was comfortable. The two onsens downstairs were both beautiful.

Being the only Ryokan on Bookings we were a little hesitant it might be too westernised. Not an issue at all. this property was a perfect balance or catering between unfamiliar visitors to Kinosaki, and providing a traditional character. Traditional rooms were lovey and cosy. There are two baths for use, which were basically unused, so no trouble getting in. Great if travelling as a couple or family, as they are fully private.
We had the half-board meal plan which came with an exceptional dinner and breakfast. Happy hour in the bar / cafe was a nice touch. All staff were lovely and very helpful. Would book it again in a heartbeat.

We are so lucky to have selected this Inn - the room was enormous and very luxurious for the price. The hotel's hot spring baths we never busy and so clean. The breakfast was delicious and very filling. Free happy hour wine, beer, and sochu. Just an amazing stay!

The hotel was in a convenient situation. The room was very comfortable and quite with the added bonus of a massage chair. The private onsen was a bonus. We also enjoyed wearing the yukata provided by the hotel. The evening meal included in our booking was superb.

Breakfast was good includes lots of green, curry sauce, sausages, bread and eggs. Ingredients were very fresh and so it was a good breakfast without being too heavy.
Nothing about the breakfast that we did not like.

Our room at Koyado En was spacious with an in-room sink and toilet. No in-room shower bath but that’s ok as there are 2 private onsen bathtubs you can freely use all day and night. A great option for those who may be too shy to use the public baths or who’d like to relax with their partner or family together. The private onsen do not need a reservation. Just see if the sign on the door says vacant and if it does you are free to use it. Just lock the door behind you and relax away. Breakfast is served at the cafe downstairs and was really good and prepared with all fresh ingredients. You can also book a Kobe Beef dinner reservation at the restaurant, Irori Dining Mikuni, just off the lobby. It serves Tajima beef which is actually Kobe beef. Kobe beef comes from cattle raised in the Tajima region (Northern Hyogo), as this is one of the requirements for Kobe beef as written by the Kobe Beef Marketing and Distribution Promotion Association. Since Kobe beef is wagyu beef from the Tajima strain of black cattle, Kinosaki is the homeplace of this treasured beef. We had an amazing multi-course Tajima beef dinner at the restaurant in our inn. It was definitely a splurge at about $100 per person but included 3 types of beef appetizers, bone broth soup, beef salad, beef yakiniku, rice, and crème brûlée for dessert. All made with top quality Tajima beef.
As part of your room reservation you’ll get a free pass to use all 7 of the public onsen baths and can pick up an onsen passport from the front desk. They also let you choose a yukata you can wear walking around town. The inn also rents bikes and can arrange a bike tour too - great if someone in your group isn’t into onsen-ing. We loved our stay here and recommend it highly to other visitors to Kinosaki.

The staff was lovely. Excellent location. They offer bike rentals.
Advice to couples, the beds aren’t big enough for that. I booked a “double,” and the bed was big enough for me alone to sleep on.
