This place is strange. It was designed to such an extent that there isn't a single element that wasn't designed especially for it - layout furniture or lighting. Everything is integrated, the bed into the kitchen island, the toilet bowl and bidet into a shelf thingy, the bathroom cupboards into the walls etc. etc. There is so much trickery, sliding mirrors, photochromatic windows - just like on a maybach - that it's slighlty crazy. There is even a cooker (although no way to wash the dishes), a sauna and a wine fridge! It's truly strange and kind of wonderful (spacious as well). The owner who, I think, works reception and lives below was super helpful in lighting the bio-fireplace thingy in the middle of the kitchen island (another gimmick we embraced and which is one of the many weird features of the room), and overall the experience was good as well as moderately priced.
The whole thing is as dated as a mini-disc player or zune... the built in steam sauna smells of moisture (moldy smell) due to insufficient ventilation and with the years of use, the bed frame is a bit torn around the edges and here and there (like the shower drain which rusted) the whole thing feels a bit tired and therefore not super clean, even if it is. I can appreaciate the considerable investment and intelectual effort in the creation of Monaco Bianco, but it is in a dear need of an update. The breakfast happens at a cafe down the road (juice, cofee and a cornetto - Italian style), which is neither good nor bad (staff seemed annoyed, but that's not the hotel's fault).

Both the rooms and the public areas are beautifully designed and well thought out. It’s in a great location and Allesandro was extremely helpful.
