This is our fourth stay at The Pilot. It never disappoints. We asked to park on site a few hours before check-in, which was really helpful. It is ideally located for exploring Eastbourne and the beautiful Sussex Downs. Our room was exceptionally clean and very comfortable, especially the bed, which was much appreciated after our long walks. The food is very good, service excellent and it was lovely to hear the laughter among staff during a busy weekend. It is clearly very popular with locals, which is always a good sign.

What a great place.
A warm and welcoming pub with great decor and ambience.
The room was modern, tastefully decorated and well appointed.
We had dinner here too, which was really good.
We were greeted and looked after by Rhiannon, who was professional, friendly and efficient
Shower was a little cool in the morning.

I was worried about parking but if get there early - free safe parking - very good.
The room was very clean , nice decor, very good tea / coffee making facility and had a fridge to keep water cold - had to go up the stairs so not suitable for people with mobility issues.
Excellent shower

Friendliness of staff!!
The decor, seating layout, lots of natural light.
I didn't like the flies around eating, on both days.
Even at night, near closing.
Ventilation in the restaurant seating area becomes rather stuffy and overly warm.
My mate got a lot more pork bites than me, the food quality and portions sizes vary quite dramatically. Thursday's supper was splendid, Friday 3pm meal was a disappointment and questions were asked, (why do we eat there all the time). It is in a good location..
Also what I do not like is, when tipping on the final bill, ie 25% it doesn't show on the printed bill. So when you get a bank alert on your phone, the added tip isn't included, and you begin freaking out that you've been scammed somehow..
