If you are the sort of person who gives Premier Inn or Holiday Inn Express a five star review then the Cross Keys is not for you. On the other hand if you like real food, real beer and real people at a value for money price I can highly recommend staying here. Some parts of the building are a bit dilapidated but this is more than made up for by everything else. We need to support places like this before a dull corporate world is all that is left.

I liked that the owner refunded my money from booking com as you made a double booking.due to your website crashing..
I liked the cosy welcoming manner that you were greeted with and the food is was well cooked and neatly presented. Bedroom was clean and so cosy.

I won't use you again as I took out two lots of insurance and it took you 12 days to cancel the other room but I see that as you've sent two of these survey so you still think I've paid for the second room which was your mistake.
The owners were surprised that you hadn't already refunded my money as all rooms were booked!!!

The staff were ok
Location ok
The kitchen had a technical issue so after travelling 5 hours could
not have a hot meal
Also no hot water so couldn’t shower
There was a large gas lorry outside on departure and we were told we would receive a full refund for the inconveniences . They had a gas issue , no gas to cook or heat water
