Djorff Palace is a beautifully designed property (a palace in the literal sense - but adopting local architecture and style) with each room having its own layout and design. It is located on the West side of the Nile river on a quiet and peaceful plot of land right on the river. The rooms are beautifully furnished with Egyptian / colonial style furniture (lots of wood), are very cozy and have obviously been decorated with lots of effort and attention to detail. A special highlight was the terrace of our room, which was spacious with a sofa, offering great views to the garden / pool and the Nile river in the background.
Special compliments go to the onsite restaurant. I didn't expect much for such a small hotel, but they literally did everything right: A small menu (yet with an attractive and sufficient selection), which changed daily, and offered very high quality meals inspired by local flavours for a very fair price.
Finally, the hotel assisted with all our travel and tour needs in a very competent manner and cosidering I always placed my requests last minute, they still made it possible.
Nothing negative in a place like this, but if I had to mention anything: The bathroom is very spacious but design-wise couldn't compete with the room itself, which was a marvel, and the breakfast didn't have the same level of quality as the lunch and dinner (but was still offering a very solid selection of local flavours).

We loved how quiet the gardens were, the amazingly friendly staff. Beautiful traditional food.

It’s beautiful and quiet.
British owner said “f*** off” when I asked about where I can turn in laundry for laundry service. It was very weird. Then a tour guide told me that she is notoriously abusive to staff and a known racist. If I’d known these things in advance, I wouldn’t have booked here.
