Located in Balboa Peninsula, this attractive house for $394 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. Location, location, location - "The Cottage" is located one house from the sand with only a garden between you and the ocean, so you can hear waves when its quiet outside. There is a semi-private walkway to the boardwalk and beach just steps from the kitchen door. Perfectly situated between Newport Pier and Balboa Pier, this location is among the best on the peninsula, away from parking lots and crowds. "The Cottage" has the fantastic beach feel of not having to cross a street or even put your shoes on to go to the beach! We have several boogie boards and beach chairs and even a soft top surfboard for your enjoyment! Walk to the Balboa Pier, the Fun Zone, or bike to the world famous "Wedge" to watch the pro's on a big day. Rent bikes from one of the bike rental providers near Balboa or Newport Pier, and enjoy one of the best bike paths in the world. There are several restaurants within walking distance, and even a local market to pick up last minute items you may need. This cottage has 3 bedrooms (3 queen beds) , a queen sleeper sofa pull out bed, 1 full shower/tub combo bathroom and as an added bonus, an outside beach shower with hot and cold water for extra convenience.

Not sure if it was the town, weather or this nice house but the entire family had a relaxing stay. Great location. Nice beds and great window shades. All the features were available. Plan to stay there again!

We had an amazing time. The cottage was very clean and stocked with all the necessities. The location was fantastic which made it great for the grandkids to access the beach without having to cross a busy street. You could walk to the Fun Zone and all the shops and resturants near by. The outside shower with hot water was great for rinsing off which help keep the sand out of the house. My only small complaint was having to provide my own beach towels. It made it inconvenient when packing and flying from out of state. Then you had to bring them back sandy and dirty. It would be better if beach towel were provided.

The house was great, especially with the location to the beach. Was perfect for going to watch sunsets and relax. The umbrellas and beach chairs provided came in handy, however I think the surfboards could use an update or at least a deep clean. Overall, would recommend this stay.

This is a great house in a great location - probably the best equipped rental house I have ever stayed in. Hosts literally thought of everything. Clean, modern, and 10 steps from the beach. We loved our stay here. There was some street noise and noise from the alley to the beach, but nothing too disruptive. Great communication from the hosts and we appreciated how easy they were to reach. Excellent experience overall.

Easy living by the sea... we had a great time here. The house is not huge, but everything is spotless, well thought out, and the house is really well supplied. We appreciated the boogie boards, especially. The front of the house opens onto quite a busy road, but the sound of traffic really doesn't disturb at all once you are inside. I would definitely love to stay here again!

This was a great property. It was very clean and modern. It had a lot of useful items we were not expecting but pleasantly surprised with. It was stocked with make up wipes, a bluetooth speaker, hand held mirrors, and coffee to name a few. Additionally the host was very friendly, accommodated an early check in and late departure. She responded to all of my questions immediately and was very thorough in her explanations. Loved this property and can’t wait to stay here again!

The house was excellent - I would definitely stay again! The layout was great and it was very clean. Debbie was also wonderful - the cleaning crew was done a little bit ahead and she let us know we'd be able to check in a little earlier than expected (which was very helpful). It's only about a 10 minute walk to the Balboa ferry and Fun Zone with a bunch of restaurant and dessert options. It was a great visit to Newport!

Perfect stay. Property exactly as described. Hosts have set everything up nicely for an easy, comfortable visit. Host offered early check in which was a nice surprise. Our family of five, including very young kids, had a great vacation, steps away from the beach. We can’t wait to come back! For future travelers, there is no washing machine (not advertised so we were aware) but when traveling with kiddos to a sandy location it would be a nice to have. There’s some great hooks outside so if you hand wash items you can easily dry.
This home is well loved, perfectly located and a true respite from day-to-day life. Highly recommend and so appreciative we were able to spend a few days this summer.

We had an amazing stay overall! The hosts were extremely detailed with directions and responded to all of our questions and concerns! The house was clean and exactly as shown in the pictures! The best part though was the location we could walk everywhere and the beach was steps away! We would stay again!

We loved staying at this property! So close to the beach and great little shops. The house itself was cozy and had everything we needed for our family of 4. We were visiting friends for a few days and the house was a great spot to reach everyone.

My family enjoyed our stay. Great location, right by the beach and bike/running path. Also a short walk to the ferry and Marina Park. Our hosts were so welcoming and did a great job of communicating. They also went above and beyond after I left an iPad behind, retrieving and mailing it back to us.

Great location, the beach is ~ 40 steps away from the side door. The ocean itself will take you 8-10 mins to reach though. Having the outdoor shower was a godsend and a well thought out design. Host was very responsive, the house itself was almost too cozy, we felt right at home. We hope to be back again soon.

We enjoyed our trip and stay in Balboa so much! The house was perfect for our family of 4 and the proximity to the beach was incredible. The house was cozy and had all the amenities you’d need for a vacation house. The beach toys, chairs, umbrellas etc were so nice to have and made the hours on the beach perfect. We would definitely stay here again. I’d also add that communication with the owners was great.
