NIce breakfast with nice people.

It wasn't clean. I felt uncomfortable in the bed because it wasn't clean. The showers were too tight.

This place is one of the best hostels I've ever stayed at. The staff were so helpful and friendly. The location of the hostel is perfect and it’s in a nice and safe place. I would definitely be back to this place in the future.

The place has a bit of a musty smell It's a long flight of stairs but it makes for a good workout 8 people in a room so people can come in and out quite often and the luggage storage compartment makes a loud noise when shut, they provide earbuds if you want to use them

Good location

The location was amazing, right in the heart of San Francisco. It’s very easy to walk around and explore the city. :)

The hostel is very dark, not a lot of natural light.

Friendly staff. Comfortable room and clean bathroom! In Chinatown and closer to good restaurants and night pubs!

No elevator and reception is on 4th floor. So you have to climb the stairs with heavy luggage!

Very friendly, kind, helping staff, very friendly guests. No need to bring towel, soap, breakfast. 2x per week even dinner is served for free.

Lock for guest lockers are available only for purchase. No free locks. The lockers are not the most comfortable to use as they are on the floor.

Be sure to like stairs climbing - but thats quite all the city though.

Oh man, this is by far my best ever hostel experience! The best location, the best staff, the best comfort, the best roommates, they have it all. Apart from the usual things like cleanliness, amenities and all where the hostel checks all marks, there were a few things I was concerned about before booking - => I've 3 bags will it be comfortable or not. While I was staying only 2 - 5 beds out of 8 in my room were occupied, so there was plenty of room for me. Even when full it has huge lockers that can have your backpacks inside and you can keep your trolley bag besides your bed. => There are too many stairs. The quiet dorm is on the third floor (second floor for me as I am used to having the ground floor as floor zero back home) which wasn't too many stairs at all. There are also chairs placed on every floor in case you need a breather before heading up. => Being an introvert will I be able to talk to people and spend good time in the city since I know no one there. A great aspect of this hostel is that most of the staff are volunteers and they are world travelers themselves. Which brings about a totally different perspective and it makes it so easier to have conversations with them. => What do I do in the city The hostel folks have so many interesting activities planned for each day of the week, that you'll definitely find something to do. They have an answer to almost all your touristy queries. => I'm traveling in Thanksgiving week and I don't have friends here. What would I do? The hostel manager (who's a gem of a person himself) and the staff arranged an amazing Thanksgiving dinner for us all. Made me feel like I was sitting among friends that I've known for so long and made my stay memorable. If people at the hostel are reading this, thank you so much for all that you do! Hoping to run into you amazing folks someday somewhere soon!

Why did I just stay for only 4 nights!

The activities organised by the hostel team, the location and the vibe of the hostel itself. The team really did make this experience and they are very successful at making the hostel feel like a home away from home!

The number of stairs you have to climb to get to reception hahah! Very typical of San Francisco. The bathrooms for the top floor dorm rooms were also just off of the common room which means using the facilities is quite public. You have to walk through the common areas and kitchen when needing a shower/the bathroom - not a critism, the building layout is the layout. It's simply a personal preference to have a little more privacy.

The breakfast is so complete.

The last two what of my stay in the hall there was strong smell of cigarettes smoke. I don't know why someone over smoking in a private room or something. The common area is small and sometimes gets too crowded.

Staff are super helpful and clearly love what they do. The complimentary breakfast in the morning was great as well and the BBQ on Friday nights. Lots of activities on offer by the hostel and they are a great resource for more info of things to do in the city. Beds were comfy and the lockers under each bed were huge. Charging ports for each bed were also helpful. Right around the corner from Chinatown from some great meals and a short walk from North Beach for tons of options to eat and drink. Very walkable location for the whole city!

Light and noise from the street were a bit intrusive, but to be expected when staying in an old building in the city (nothing earplugs and an eye mask won’t fix). Showers and toilets on the second floor of the hostel were a bit cramped but I was told there were others that were bigger.

It was superb. The entire experience passed the realm of departmental type rating and was dream like
